A new secondary Academy for Croydon
In September 2015, Oasis Academy Arena will open as a brand new secondary Academy for the local community in South Norwood. This exciting new school is being established at the site of Croydon Arena, and will be a legacy for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, delivering an innovative curriculum and specialising in sports and sciences. We are looking for an exceptional individual to fulfil this unrivalled opportunity to lead our new start-up Academy and bring outstanding education and wider community provision based on our Oasis Hub model to local children.
About the School
Oasis Academy Arena is a new six form of entry secondary Academy for students aged 11-16 years, opening with an initial intake of 180 children, and growing year-on-year to 900 students by 2019. Post-16 provision will be offered to Oasis Academy Arena students through the partnership with Oasis Academy Shirley Park. Oasis has been chosen as the London Borough of Croydon’s preferred partner to open the new Academy, which is being built in response to a critical shortage of secondary school places in the borough. The Academy will include a Designated Resource Provision for 15 students with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
