Preparations

Charging the battery

1.  Connect your camera to computer USB port using the supplied USB cable. When the red light is on-the battery is being charged.

2.  When your camera is fully charged, red light goes off.

NOTES:

  Please connect your camera to computer USB port using supplied cable.

  DO NOT use USB extension cable.

  Please note the position of the small USB connector. It only goes in one way DO NOT try and force it.

  Full charging time is about 3 hours.

Taking a Video

This chapter describes the basic process of taking video with your MV8002 camera.

No Remote

1. Push the ON/OFF switch downwards to turn the camera on.

Be sure to move your fingers away from the camera lens and the flash when you are ready to take a photo.

2. The green LED light will flash 3 seconds, then the camera will start filming.

3. Push the ON/OFF switch upward to stop the recording and turn off your camera. A blue Led will flash once indicate the video is being processed.

NOTES:

  Recharge your camera if it doesn’t work.

  Be sure to move your fingers away from the camera lens when you are ready to record.

Taking a Video

With Remote:

1.  Push the Remote switch downwards.

2.  Press and hold on the remote control for 3 seconds then release it to start up your camera.

3.  Press on remote to start recording, press it again to stop recording.

4.  The green LED light will flash at the same time, the camera will start filming.

5.  Press again to stop recording, a blue Led will flash once indicate the video is being processed.

NOTES:

  Make sure the Remote switch on your camera is ON.

  To conserve the camera battery power, push the Remote switch to OFF when you don’t use Remote.

  Recharge your camera if it doesn’t work.


Taking a Photo

1.  Push the Remote switch downwards.

2.  Press and hold on the remote control for 3 seconds then release it to start up your camera.

3.  Press on remote to take one photo.

4.  A blue Led will flash once indicate the photo is being processed.

NOTES:

  Make sure the Remote switch on your camera is ON.

  To conserve the camera battery power, push the Remote switch to OFF when you don’t use Remote.

  Recharge your camera if it doesn’t work.

Connecting the Camera to a Windows PC

1.  Items to Prepare

ü  Camera and Computer

ü  Interface cable supplied with the camera

2.  Connecting the camera to a computer

  Use the supplied interface cable to connect the computer’s USB port to the camera.

  Push the Power switch downward to turn on your camera. The camera and computer will be able to communicate.

  After you connected your camera to computer, check if the connection was properly done by finding the [Removable Disk] in [My computer] window. Removable disk which you see the appearance right after the connection with the camera is the one to check.


Connecting the Camera to a Windows PC

Please follow the steps below:

  Open [MyComputer].
Before you connect your camera to computer, please open [MyComputer] to check the drives in there.

  Confirmation after connecting your camera.
After connecting your camera to the computer, please reopen [MyComputer] to see if [Removable Disk] icon newly appeared.

Caution:

  Computer may not be able to recognize the camera when you use USB HUB or USB extension cable for connecting camera and computer. Please note the use of USB HUB and USB extension CABLE is out of operation warranty. Please try connecting camera and computer without USB HUB or USB extension cable if you currently use it.

  Please note the position of the small USB connector. It only goes in one way. DO NOT try and force it.

Download Video/Photo to Computer

Downloading is the process of transferring photos from the camera’s memory card to your computer.

1.  Click newly appeared [Removable Disk] icon.

2.  Double click [DCIM] file to access your video/photo.

3.  Use the Copy and Paste commands to transfer selected photos to your hard drive.


Checking Battery Level

1.  Items to Prepare

ü  Remote and Computer

2.  Using Remote to check battery level, please follow the steps below:

ü  Push the Remote switch downwards.

ü  Hold the Button for two seconds

Light three and four are on / Battery is Low!!!
All lights are on / Battery is full


Checking Memory Level

1.  Items to Prepare

ü  Remote and Computer

2.  Using Remote to check memory level, please follow the steps below:

ü  Push the Remote switch downwards.

ü  Hold the Button for two seconds

ü  The light one and three will automatically come on when the camera is powered on.

Note: MV8002 comes with an internal 2GB memory.


Changing the battery in the Remote

1.  Remove the 3 small screws on the rear of the Remote.

2.  Replace the button battery(model: 2032)

Note: Remote battery is good for about one year before replacing.


Setting the Password

1.  Items to Prepare

ü  Camera and Computer

ü  Interface cable supplied with the camera

2.  Connecting the camera to a computer.

3.  Push the Power switch downward to turn on your camera. The camera and computer will be able to communicate.

4.  Double click [MicroVi8002] onto your desktop to run it and do all kinds of settings.

5.  The factory default password of MV8002 is 000000. You need to input this code in before resetting your own password.


Entering the Password

You can protect your video/photo in your camera from deleting, unwanted copy, peeing and downloading by using a password to protect them.

Once you set your password, you may need to enter your password to access your camera file.

1.  Connecting the camera to a computer.

2.  Push the Power switch downward to turn on your camera. The camera and computer will be able to communicate.

3.  Double click [MicroVi8002] onto your desktop to run it

4.  Go to page [Operation Password Setting]

Click on the "Password" input box and enter your password

5.  Click "Set".

6.  Then you could access your camera file to do any operation.

Setting the Date and Time

The camera has a real-time clock that can record the date and time at which you take each video/photo.

It is designed to set its time according to the time of your PC that you are using. You can still make changes according to your needs.

2.  Connecting the camera to a computer.

3.  Push the Power switch downward to turn on your camera. The camera and computer will be able to communicate.

4.  Double click [MicroVi8002] onto your desktop to run it and do all kinds of settings.

5.  Go to page [Date/Time Setting] to set the date and time


Setting the Identification Number

You can assign a unique identification number for your MV8002. You will see the set identification number on the top right of the on-screen playback.

2.  Connecting the camera to a computer.

3.  Push the Power switch downward to turn on your camera. The camera and computer will be able to communicate.

4.  Double click [MicroVi8002] onto your desktop to run it and do all kinds of settings.

5.  Go to page [ID Setting] to set the identification number.


Resetting the Camera

You can use the restart button if MV8002 freezes during operation. Carefully insert a straightened paper clip in the restart hole and gently push on the button inside. You should not use excessive force.


Troubleshooting

Problems and solutions

If you have a problem using your camera, review this section first.

If you cannot find the solution to your problem here, please contact your retailer for Information.

Problem / Possible Cause / Solution
The wrong date and/or time is displayed. / The batteries were dead / Recharge the batteries (see “Preparations” on

The camera does not respond when I am recording / The camera is off. / Turn the camera on (see “Taking a Video” on page 4 and Page 5).

The camera needs to be reset. / (see “Resetting the Camera” on Page 18),
I can’t erase a video / photo. / Enter your File Operation Password / (see “Entering the Password” on Page 15),
When I connect the camera to my computer, it can’t find the camera. / The camera is turned off.
Check to make sure that the USB cable is firmly
connected at both ends. / Turn the camera on (see “Connecting the Camera to a Windows PC” on page 8).
The USB cable is not connected correctly. / Check to make sure that the USB cable is firmly connected at both ends.
The camera is connected to the computer via a
USB hub or a extension USB cable and they are not compatible with the camera. / Connect the camera directly to a USB port on the computer.
I have to recharging the camera batteries frequently. / Using Remote to operation the camera can also consume the battery power faster. / Limit your use of the Remote.
The Remote switch on camera turns on and consumes battery power while you carry it . / To conserve the camera battery power, push the Remote switch to OFF when you don’t use Remote.
