Job Role
Role Overview: / The role managespartnership project activities in line with donor agreements/contracts and maintain regular communication and provide scheduled feedbackto different donors in line with MOUs and agreements.

Strategic responsibilities /
  • Develop donor contracts and provide leadership in its implementation
  • Assess funding trends in the country and advise on opportunities for partnership funding
  • Work closely with Fundraising Manager to track and monitor funding opportunities and position AAG to secure such funding
  • Develop annual critical pathways to ensure that project development and implementation is in line with the priorities of the Country Strategy Plan (CSP) and key change promises.
  • Conduct regular review and reflections and planning meetings with communities and partners to inform project outcomes
  • Actively participate in the annual planning and budgeting process

Operational Responsibilities /
  • Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly plans for effective execution of the project activities as stipulated in project documents.
  • Break-down and elaborate project strategies to enhance effective implementation
  • Mobilise partner organizations, stakeholders and communities as per the MOU and Contract to fulfil the objectives of the project.
  • Manage and mobilize human, financial and material resources of the project and assess the resource needs for project activities.
  • Coordinate and liaise with district line agencies and authorities, local project partners, communities, project beneficiaries and other stakeholders for effective delivery of project activities and policy influence at local and national level.
  • Anticipate risks and take steps to mitigate them

Resource Management Responsibilities /
  • Support to translate and communicate project performance to staff and partners to improve programme quality and performance.
  • Liaise with the finance unit to develop and institute cost effective strategies and systems to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Facilitate effectiveness and efficiency in the use of financial resources by ensuring full and judicious utilization of funds
  • Ensure timely reporting and documentation to improve relationships and accountability to donors and communities through quality reporting.
  • Prepare and ensure that periodic technical and financial reports of the project are submitted to donor organizations as per the MOU.

Fundraising responsibilities /
  • Develop concept notes for new projects and explore opportunities for continuation of existing projects
  • Develop documentation highlighting the challenges and lessons learned from projects disseminating widely to position AAG as a learning organisation

Partnership and Coalitions /
  • Sustain positive partnership and networking relationships with key stakeholders on projects to influence policies and practices.
  • Provide strategic support to increase understanding and appreciation of changes in project agreements and direction.
  • Monitor project partners’activities and relationships to ensure compliance with set agreements.
  • Raise AAG’s profile through highlighting best practices that emerged from projects at fora and other public events.

M&E /
  • Carry out smooth and effective coordination between project priorities and key change promises.
  • Design monitoring and evaluation indicators for the assessment of projects
  • Support to undertake monitoring and evaluation of project activities
  • Submit regular progress reports (monthly, quarterly and annual) on projects
  • Organise Project Management Team Meetings on quarterly basis

Participates in Senior Management Team (SMT) meetings /
  • Positive inputs and comments are provided for the formulation/update of AAG‘s strategy, policies and procedures
  • Strategic decisions, particularly in relation to projects and fundraising are lucidly made.

Child Protection Responsibilities /
  • Be aware abreast with all child protection issues and comply with them.
  • Educate project staff and other stakeholders who may come into contact with children on child protection issues.
  • Take appropriate steps to address poor practices or potentially abusive behaviours as relevant.
  • Ensure parental or guardian’s consent is sought for any activity with a child and encourage parental participation in all activities involving children.
  • Ensure that parental consent is sought before taking any images or footage of children and explain the use to which they will be put.

Person Specification
Education & Certifications / 2nd Degree + 5 years relevant experience or equivalent
1st Degree + 10 years relevant experience
Essential Knowledge and Experience / Must have knowledge and experience in project management, monitoring and evaluation, and proposal & report writing,
Desirable Knowledge and Experience / Knowledge and experience in fundraising and lobbying
