Oakridge Parochial School

Pupil Premium Reporting 2016/17.

What is Pupil Premium Funding?

Pupil premium funding is allocated to children from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) in both mainstream and non-mainstream settings, children who have been “Looked After” continuously for more than six months, and children of service personnel. In 2014 this also included pupils eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years (known as the Ever 6 FSM measure). Schools are free to spend the pupil premium as they see fit. However, we are held accountable for how we have used the additional funding to support pupils from low-income families. We are required to publish information about how we have used the premium. This will ensure that parents and others are made fully aware of the attainment of pupils covered by the premium and the extra support they receive.

How do we spend Pupil Premium funding?

At Oakridge Parochial School we support all our pupils in achieving the very best outcomes possible in their learning. We do this by providing high quality teaching, supplemented by interventions to support vulnerable learners as and when required. To ensure that children who meet the Pupil Premium criteria achieve well we seek to identify any barriers to achievement and plan how these areas may be addressed. During the past two academic years the funding has been spent in the ways outlined below.

Academic year / Total amount received / % of pupils meeting the criteria / Provision
2016/17 / £2640 / 5% / Reading, writing & numeracy intervention programmes for identified pupils – teaching assistant support.
Subsidising cost of extra- curricular activities.
Support for uniform purchase.

What has been the impact?

During the academic year provision has been reviewed termly to ensure it has had a direct impact on improving individual achievement, providing equal opportunities and representing value for money.

The number of children eligible for the Pupil Premium grant is small and as such the publication of achievement results may identify individuals and families.

If you have any questions or would like to know more about Pupil Premium funding please speak to the Head teacher.
