New code regulations require elevator rescue training and certificationby all parties involved in performing rescues.
Therefore, SETEC, Inc. - Elevator Solutions has developed a new certification course work. It is the goal of this training course to equip all personnel charged with attempting the rescue of passengers stranded in an inoperable elevator with the knowledge to safely and effectively remove passengers from elevators when no elevator maintenance personnel are available. This course provides cost-effective, flexible, and just-in-time training to meet ASME code safety regulations.
As a pioneer in elevator safety, SETEC is attributed with several elevator safety designs and holds the joint safety patent for the electronic door restrictor. To further SETEC's commitment to safety, this course was designed to provide detailed elevator emergency procedure training and certification required for the safe removal of passengers from stalled elevators. The course will be customized to your specific building and elevator requirements. Class attendees will be required to perform a successful rescue from elevators located on your facility in order to receive certification in emergency elevator rescue training. This way, they get hands-on practice before an emergency, which is the basis for an expedient rescue and safety for both your passengers and your personnel. The emergency rescue certification procedures taught are produced in accordance with the ASME A17.4 regulations as adopted by many states and the federal government. SETEC designed this course to increase elevator safety awareness while at the same time reducing costs that business owners incurred from elevator rescues. This is accomplished by educating Company Officers or designated personnel on the different types of elevators and how to rescue trapped occupants from an elevator safely and in a timely manner, with and without forcible entry tools.
We will provide a qualified elevator safety consultant to instruct and teach the course at your facility. The anticipated time to complete the course is 16-20 hours or two (2) full days.
