CODE OF CONDUCT

The Board of Directors of Plymouth Youth Baseball & Softball, Inc. has adopted a “Zero Tolerance Policy” regarding with respect to any violation of its core values as set forth in the following code of conduct.

PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT

  1. Will not criticize players on my team, and will be a good teammate, recognizing everyone makes mistakes.
  1. Will accept decisions of umpires as fair and called to the best of the ability of the umpire.
  1. Will not criticize, taunt or gesture toward any opposing team member, nor any fan or spectator.
  1. Emphasize that good athletes strive to be good students.
  1. Emphasize that winning is the result of good “teamwork.”
  1. Not use abusive, profane or disrespectful language at any time.
  1. Always play hard and give my best effort.
  1. Always maintain ultimate respect for coaches.
  1. Wear my uniform properly and with pride.

PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT

As a PYB&S Parent, you hereby pledge to provide positive support, care and encouragement for each child participating in PYB&S by following this Code of Conduct:

I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all children, and coaches (including those of an opposing team). This applies to every game, practice or any other PYB&S event.

I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all officials and parents at every game or event.

I will place the emotional and physical well being of all children on all teams ahead of any personal desire to win.

I will ask my child to treat all other players, coaches, umpires, league officials, and parents with respect.

I promise to help my child enjoy PYB&S by being respectful to all players, coaches, officials, and parents.

I will insist that all children play in a safe and healthy environment.

I will demand a drug, alcohol, and tobacco-free sports environment for all children and agree to assist by refraining from their use at all PYB&Sgames, practices and events.

I will remember that PYB&S baseball and softball is for children and not for adults.

I will do all I can to make the game fun and safe for all the children involved in PYB&S.

I will help the team coach by being on time for practices and games and I will pick up my child on time at the end of practices and games. If I am unable to attend any games or practices I will let my child’s coach know in a reasonable and timely fashion. I will never leave my child alone at a game or practice without informing my coach.

I realize that should I fail to adhere to this Code of Conduct, that PYB&S, Inc. may apply any sanctions, penalties, suspensions or expulsions deemed appropriated by the Board of Directors. In the event of a breach, I or my child could face removal as a spectator or player from PYB&S.
