Region 1 HMCC October 13, 2015 Meeting

  1. Tracy introduced Lucy Britton of Berkshire Medical Center, and welcomed guests to the meeting. Introductions were made by each.
  1. Tracy presented and discussed a slide show covering feedback from the surveysbefore & after the last meeting. Acknowledged concerns and confirmed we are trying to address concerns in survey. Slide show can be found on HMCC webpage, entitled, FRCOG Reports.
  1. Debbie Lynangale of the Mediation and Training Collaborative took the floor and discussed the HMCC Governing Body Functions and Tasks.
  1. Debbie presented possible starting points as provisional proposals. Attendees were broke up into 5 small working groups with facilitators to discuss and summarize the tasks and function of the HMCC Governing Body. The compiled participants list of tasks and functions is available on the HMCC webpage, titled Brainstormed Governing Body Functions and Tasks.
  2. Debbie asked that for homework, attendees think about the topic and come back next meeting with discussion and decisions. She stated that each consecutive meeting would have a follow-up portion to discuss issues that attendees were asked to think about and discuss with their disciplines throughout the month.
  1. Mark discussed 3 possible HMCC Committee Structures – Mark talked about the coalition encompassing all disciplines and people involved in the process to be considered part of the HMCC.
  2. Sub-Regional – Closest to status quo. Sub regions report to larger governing board.
  3. Emergency Management Cycle – Mitigation, Response, Preparedness and Recovery reporting to Governing Board.
  4. WRHSAC Model – Planning, Training and Exercise, Information Sharing Reporting to a Governing Board

Debbie discussed the mandates of the structure from DPH for the coalition regarding organizational structure, and again broke participants up into groups and discussed the pros and cons of the models presented and then issue a 2 minute summary of the group discussions. The lists developed by participants can be found on the HMCC webpage titled Pros and Cons of Possible Committee Structures.
  1. Next month’s meeting will revisit and come up with provisional structures for a model. Discuss with your organizations what they think of the models and if they have any input and feedback for the next meeting. Before next meeting, we would like proposed models submitted. The FRCOG staff will develop a proposed model based on today’s discussion for participants to review.
