PRE-TASK
Pupils already got to know the first picture of Henri Matisse at the panorama page in the pupil’s book.
Later we read the text about him (Kopiervorlage 3.4) and answered the questions.
As an instruction to the painting with scissors we look a short film on you tube (Henri Matisse: The cut outs). / LANGUAGE SUPPORT
Possible sentences for the description on the blackboard (The title of my picture is…/ It is…./ It has…./ There is blue…in my picture. At the top/at the bottom/in the middle there is…)
TASK INSTRUCTION
Make your own painting with scissors like Henry Matisse. First choose the topic of your picture. Choose between flowers, sea, people or sky.
When you have finished your picture, write a description of it, so that other people can recognize your picture. / TASK OUTCOME
If possible exchange the picture with another class/group.
The pupils have to read the descriptions of the pictures and match it to the correct one. / PRESENTATION FORM
The pupils can read out loud the description of another child in front of the class and can match it with the correct picture.
