Development and Alumnae Coordinator (Maternity Cover)

The Royal High School is an academically selective, independent day (3-18) and boarding (10-18) school for approximately 650 girls. Junior and Senior Schools are both situated on the northern side of Bath, enjoying commanding views of the city and with good access to the A46 and M4. The Sixth Form is on the same site as the Senior School. The Junior School is located at Cranwell House, which is a 25 minute walk / 10 minute drive from the senior site. Cranwell consists of a refurbished Victorian mansion and a modern new building designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley. The Junior School site is approximately 11 acres.

The Senior site provides a fusion of history and heritage with modern and contemporary facilities which combine to create a perfect learning and teaching experience. Facilities on the site include an Art School, Performing Arts Theatre, Multi-Gym and Sports Hall. In 2015 the school, supported by the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST), embarked on an extensive roof replacement project which is scheduled for completion in 2018. The boarding houses have been completely refurbished during the summer 2017 and there are exciting plans to enhance the sporting and music facilities at the senior school.

Committed to academic excellence, the school has outstanding results at GCSE and post 16 level and there is demand for places. Sixth Form students choose between A level and the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

The Post

The Royal High School Bath is seeking a Development and Alumnae Coordinator to lead on fundraising and development opportunities, working closely with the Head and The Girls Day School Trust to continue taking this forward. You will also manage and develop the alumnae relationships within the school.

You will need to demonstrate a high level of organisation and communication skills, the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines and initiate ideas and follow them through. Experience in a similar role or in fields such as public relations, marketing, fundraising or events is essential. Knowledge of working in the education sector would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be pro-active, self-motivated and able to work under their own direction and will thrive as part of a team.

Hours

Part Time (28 hours per week- 4 days), all year round

General

Adhering to the policies of the school and the GDST, as published in the Staff handbook and ORACLE for Schools as amended from time to time, in particular policies relating to the safeguarding of children.

Safeguarding Checks

All appointments in will be subject to two satisfactory references, Disclosure check by the Disclosure & Barring Service, medical fitness for this role and evidence of identity and qualifications. All the above checks must be completed before beginning work in the school. In the unlikely event of an unsatisfactory report being received following the issuing of a contract, the offer of appointment will be terminated without notice.

Interviews

Salary

Competitive & in line with GDST pay scales available on our website. Grade 4, dependent on experience.

Probationary Period

All posts are subject to a six months probationary period and the GDST Probationary Period Policy will be given to shortlisted candidates, but is also available on request to all enquirers.
