RESPONSIBLE TO: Trading Facility Manager
DETAILS OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To be the perfect host, making our guests feel as welcome as possible at all times.
- Assist in ensuring the highest consistent standards of Customer Quality Service is achieved on their shift
- To adhere to Hygiene Regulations.
- To carry out cleaning duties as required by the Head Chef/Supervisor.
- To monitor and document quality control procedures as required by the Head Chef/Supervisor
- To assist in ensuring the general security within the kitchen area in particular the security of store rooms, freezer, fridges, Etc.
- To follow the kitchen procedures based on the principles of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and The Safer Food Better Business Handbook.
- To assist in maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the facility and relevant check sheets are completed.
- Communicate with guests in a friendly and appropriate manner.
- Ensure that food and drinks are served and presented to the prescribed standard.
- Adhere to Barnsley Premier Leisure’s uniform standards, stock control and cash handling policies at all times.
- Ensure that your work areas are clean, safe and maintained in accordance with company guidelines.
- Maintain a high level of attendance and time keeping in line with their rota.
- Adhere to all aspects of licensing law, trading standards, customs and excise regulations, food hygiene, health and safety and company policy.
- Carry out any reasonable instruction given by any member of the management team.
- Maintain product knowledge and be familiar with current promotions and new products.
And any other duties commensurate with the grade and falling within the scope of the post, as requested by Management.

Information to Candidates on Employment Terms and Conditions
The following details outlining some of the main Terms and Conditions of Employment are for information only. They do not constitute a contractual agreement. A full Contract of Employment will be issued to the successful applicant on appointment.
- Working Hours
The normal hours of work will beCasual “as and when required” hours per week to be worked to suit the needs of the service which may include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
- Holidays
There are 20 days annual leave from 1 April to 31 March each year plus 8 Bank Holidays (pro rata for part-time staff). Staff appointed part way through a holiday year will receive a proportionate entitlement. - Salary
The rate of pay will be up to £7.50 per hour depending on age.
- Probationary Period
All new appointments are subject to a probationary period of 6 months during which time suitability for the position appointed will be assessed.
- Notice Period
The notice period that will operate on both sides to terminate the Contract will be one month or, on the employer side, one week for every year of service (to a maximum of 12 weeks) if this is greater.
- Appointment
Appointments made are subject to satisfactory to the employer of a health clearance, and two references.
