MEMORANDUM FOR SEE DISTRIBUTION

SUBJECT: LOGCAP Support Unit (LSU)/Army Sustainment Command (ASC) Pre-Deployment Training

1. Welcome to the LOGCAP Support Unit (LSU) and the Army Sustainment Command (ASC). The LSU Commander and Staff are excited to have you in our Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP) Pre-Deployment Training. This training event will be held at Rock Island Arsenal (RIA) Illinois; contracted lodging will be provided, location TBD.

2. This deployment is in support of LOGCAP, which provides contracted logistics support to the War Fighter in the theater of operations. The teams typically consist of 1-4 personnel which are usually located at Brigade level and higher commands. This duty is in partnership with the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) to ensure the contractor provides the appropriate services.

3. The training is designed to prepare Soldiers for the logistical support mission required by the Combatant Commands in theater. Soldiers will be assigned to the LSU for the duration of the deployment unless the mission requirements are changed by the Force Requester. If not previously submitted, Soldiers will provide a military bio and last 3 NCOER/OERs to LOGCAP Support Unit: 703-806-4583 or 703-806-4605. This information will be used by the leadership, both CONUS and OCONUS to determine assignments in theater.

4. As part of the training requirements, Soldiers will be given an APFT; participate in a physically demanding STX Lanes familiarization training exercise, and a five mile road march. Soldiers are directed to hand carry copies of any profiles if applicable. All Soldiers shall scan and send a copy of the most current PHA and profiles to the ASC Command Surgeon, Attn: COL Robert T. Pero, . Submission of the medical information will initiate and expedite the medical screening process prior to arrival at RIA. For additional information, review the ASC Medical Readiness Pre-Deployment Requirements.

5. To assist Soldiers with the Pre-Deployment preparedness and find answers to basic questions concerning the deployment process; please review Ft. Benning’s CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) web site at https://www.benning.army.mil/infantry/197th/CRC/. Disregard the reference to making reservations for CRC; reservations will be worked at the ASC level. Time will be set aside during the Pre-Deployment training schedule for Soldiers to complete the Pre-Certification training while at RIA. In addition, Soldiers will complete the Information Assurance Training at https://ia.signal.army.mil and submit the training certificate to the training NCO while at RIA.

6. It is imperative to identify Soldiers who have “DWELL Time” remaining prior to receiving their mobilization orders. Soldiers who have not completed a 12 month home station respite following an OCONUS Combat deployment will submit name and tour information to the ASC G3 Training SGM, 309-782-8674, if a Soldier signed a waiver to accept this tour, the ASC Commander will review the Soldier’s request for deployment to ensure the Department of the Army’s intent is met.

7. A Yellow Ribbon Reintegration event will be held for all Soldiers and their family members.

8. Before any orders are cut, ALL Soldiers shall verify that their correct address is in the record portal account on the www.HRC.army.mil website. A DA Form 1058 will be completed in order to obtain a Pre-Deployment AT order and returned to LOGCAP Support Unit: 703-806-4583 or 703-806-4605 with copies of the travel itinerary. Soldiers will ensure DA Form 1058 is completed in its entirety; block 22 and 24 must be signed. Cost estimates to include one way travel from HOR MUST be entered in block 24. The AT order will only fund travel one way from HOR to Rock Island since the Mob order will immediately follow the AT order. The Mob order will fund travel from Rock Island to CRC Fort Benning. CWT will reserve the airline ticket and provide a cost estimate. All AT orders will authorize CBA (Central Billed Account) which means the AT order will serve as the pay document for the ticket. You must tell CWT that a CBA will be used.

10. The LSU Commander and Staff look forward to your arrival.
