Dear Headteacher/Music Co-ordinator

SCHOOLS’ PROM 2011

WEDNESDAY 13APRILANDTHURSDAY 14 APRIL 2011 ST. GEORGE’S HALL

I am writing to invite your KS2 instrumental pupils to take part in the next Prom concerts.

Each year one of the highlights of the concert is a performance by pupils taking part in the Key Stage 2 Instrumental and Vocal scheme and we have had groups of up to 100 pupils taking part! This year wewould like to invite your Key Stage 2 guitar or ukulelepupils to take part in a fabulous massed performance with other Key Stage 2 guitarand ukulele groups. Our staff will work with your students in the weekly lessons and then all the groups will get together on the Monday rehearsal (see below).

Arrangements for transport and supervision will have to remain the responsibility of each individual school. The success of the concert is dependent on each participant’s commitment to the rehearsals. Please check the schedule carefully (the day depends on which concert you are taking part in). The schedule is:

Rehearsals: Monday 11 April 2011

5.30 – 6.30 (times and venue to be confirmed)

Wednesday13April 2011

St. George’s Hall – (time to be arranged during the day)

Concert:Wednesday13April 2011

St. George’s Hall 7.00pm start

Please consider whether or not your school would like to be involved; commitment to attending the Monday rehearsal is essential. Providing staff to accompany your students is vital and remains your responsibility. We have always had a good response to this opportunity, therefore requests will be handledon a first come first served basis. If you would like to be part of this exciting and vibrant performance, please fill in the attached form and return it by post or fax no later than

Monday1November 2010.

The performance will be filmed and photographs will be taken by the Music & Arts Service and the Press, and may be used by the Music and Arts Service for promoting their activities and music making in Bradford generally. It is important that parents of those taking part have been informed of this, unless you have a standing arrangement for such permissions. We also hope to produce a DVD of each night’s performance which would be available for parents to purchase.

We will be in touch as soon as possible after the closing date to let you know further details as necessary.

Thankyou for your co-operation in this matter. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Felicity French
