Dear CSB Degree Candidate:
Congratulations on your upcoming commencement scheduled for Saturday, May 14at 2:00 p.m. in
the Haehn Campus Center Clemens Field House. Listed below is information you will need for your graduation from St. Ben’s. Please read carefully and keep for further reference.
Grad Finale: Thursday, March 24th– Gorecki 204- 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
You may order your announcements, have your picture taken, pick up your cap and gown, order class rings and pre-order a Commencement Ceremony DVD. Surveys will be taken and prizes will be awarded.
GRADUATION FEE: A fee of $40will be charged to your April account to defray the cost of gowns and lunch tickets.
ACADEMIC ATTIRE: Cap and gowns will be distributed at the Grad Finale on Thursday, March 24to all students who have applied for Graduation. Ifyou are unable to be on campus on March 24th, gowns may be picked up at the CSB Bookstore on Thursday, May 12and Friday, May13from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 14thfrom 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
COMMENCEMENT TICKETS: Each graduate will receive (4) tickets for her family members and guests to attend the ceremony in the Haehn Campus Center Clemens Field House. Seating will begin at 1pm. Additional seating willbe available, without tickets in O’Connell’s and Alumnae Hall, there your guests will view the ceremony on big screen TV. You may also view ceremonies on Channel 15 in allstudenthousing. Handicap seating is available by request. Contact Special Events at 363-5868.
Luncheon: each graduate will receive (5) free tickets for the Commencement Luncheon, you will need one of the luncheon tickets for yourself. The lunch buffet will be served in the Alumnae Hall from 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and in Claire Lynch Hall from 11:00a.m. – 1:00pm. Additional lunch tickets may be purchased for $9.00 each, plus tax at the food service office in the Gorecki Dining Center Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.; tickets may also be purchased the day of the luncheon. TICKET DISTRIBUTION: Your packet of ceremony and luncheon tickets will be distributed at the CSB Bookstore on Thursday and Friday, May 12thand 13thbetween 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. You must present your I.D. card to claim them.
REHEARSAL: Rehearsal will take place Friday, May 13at 3:00 p.m. SHARP! Please line up on the lawn between the Library and Murray Hall. Lineup information will be sent by email and posted with numerical and alphabetical markings on the sidewalk. In the event of rain, line up will be in Claire Lynch. Rehearsal is mandatory for all graduatingseniors. If you cannot attend rehearsal or ceremonies, please contact Anastasia Nathe in the Registrar’s Office at 363-5304.
GRADUATION MASS: Two masses will be offered for your convenience in the Sacred Heart Chapel - 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Please fill out the attached form if you plan to attend one of the masses.
PHOTOS: A professional photographer has been hired to take pictures of the graduation ceremony. Family members are encouraged to remain in their seats. You will receive a color proof in the mail approximately one week after the ceremony. There is no obligation to purchase. Cap and gown portraits will also be taken at Grad Finale.
VIDEO RECORDING: This year we are offering the 2011 CSB Commencement DVD for $27. Please pre-order at the Grad Final or, online at or call 1-800-420-4509.
SIMULCAST: The Commencement ceremony will be available for viewing on the CSB campus cable TV system on channel 15.
COMMENCEMENT WEBCAST: The College of St. Benedict will webcast Commencement exercises over the Internet. A computer connected to the Internet with a high speed connection is all that is needed. To view the webcast, go to the CSB/SJU Commencement Web page at /commencement and click on the link button labeled “2011 CSB Commencement webcast.” There you will find a link to download Real Networks latest free Realplayer software which is needed to view the webcast. There will be a signal available for people to check their connection one hour prior to Commencement.Also, a few days after Commencement a video file of the ceremony will be available at the above Commencement link.
