Course information
Using the new Safety Town road safety education website teachers will explore learning activities within a PDHPE K-6 context, and consider whole-school strategies to engage students and the school community in being safer road users.

Cost: No cost to attend the workshop. It includes morning tea, lunch and materials.
(free) 1 day casual teacher relief per school is available, additional teachers are welcome to attend at school’s own cost.
What will teachers get out of it?
Participants will:
· increase their knowledge and understanding of how to address road safety issues affecting students at their school
· refresh their understanding of the PDHPE K-6 syllabus
· explore new resources to support the effective teaching of road safety
· receive free road safety materials for their school
· review strategies to promote a whole-school approach to road safety
· access opportunities for further professional learning.
Prerequisite
Participants will undertake a simple review of how their school addresses road safety education, prior to attending this workshop. Details will be provided on registration.

Completing this course will contribute 5 hours of QTC Registered PD addressing 2.1.2, 3.3.2, 3.4.2, 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
