Job Title: Supported Living Worker
(Waking Night)
Location: Misc
Reports to: Team Leader Supported Living
Hours: Part-time
20 hours per week

Job Summary
To be involved in creating a warm, homely and stimulating environment for all those living at the Supported Housing scheme
To be available at all times during the night to attend to the physical and emotional needs of those living at the house .
To deal effectively with any challenging behaviour which may be presented by the service users.
To enable service users increase their skills and confidence and support them in decision making, budgeting and with their personal development.
To be responsible to perform duties safely and effectively for the well being of the service users and own personal safety.
Responsible for reporting any issues to the Supported Housing Manager or On Call Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
1. To be responsible for the care and welfare of the service users, including physical care and personal hygiene as well as for their emotional well-being.
2. To support service users during the night with any help that they may need.
3. To liaise with other staff regarding the needs of the service users.
4. To accompany service users on holidays.
5. To write up daily night reports, monitoring charts, complete incident/accident forms, ABC charts.
6. To attend supervisions and annual appraisal session.
7. To attend regular staff meetings/reviews.
8. To attend appropriate training sessions as required.
9. To work on a rota system, this will involve working weekends/some Bank Holidays.
10. To respect the confidentiality of the service users, staff and the organisation.
11. To carry out all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
12. Ensure that the night schedule is followed to ensure that the house is kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
13. To carry out Laundry duties as required i.e washing, ironing etc..
14. To carry out Health and Safety checks on the building ensuring doors and windows are locked and that the service users are in a safe environment.
15. Report any concerns/maintenance issues promptly.
16. Ensure staff cover is arranged in the event that a member of staff on the early shift phones in sick.
17. Ensure awareness of the fire equipment/procedure in the event of a fire.
Security of Building
Checking the building and ensuring that all doors and windows are locked and that residents and sleeping-in staff are in a safe environment.
