Cheertowne Booster Club

The Booster Club was formed to benefit CTA, its cheerleaders, coaches, and parents. Below are just a few of the services that the Booster Club will provide:

·  Monthly fundraising opportunities

·  Obtaining Corporate Sponsorships/Donations

·  Cost projection and payment schedules

·  Monthly statements of account activity and balances

·  Hotel Arrangements

·  End of the year Banquet & other social gatherings

·  Various committees to support the overall needs of the program

Please note the booster club operates as a separate entity from CTA. Therefore, please make all checks payable to Cheertowne Booster Club (CBC). The annual registration fee is $75.00 per family for up to 2 cheerleaders. Families with more than 2 cheerleaders will be charged an additional $10 per cheerleader.

An individual account will be established for each cheerleader at the start of the season. The purpose of this account is to pay for expenses affiliated with allstar cheerleading. Deductions will be made from each booster account to pay for items such as the following:

·  Uniforms & Accessories

·  Warm-ups & Shoes

·  Competition Fees/Choreography Camp

·  Year End Banquet/Miscellaneous

The booster club will establish a payment installment schedule providing actual due dates. Competition payments will be due by the 15th of each month. All balances must be satisfied on a monthly basis and the final balance must be satisfied by November 15, 2011 in order for your child to remain a part of the program. Monthly statements will be provided via email each month. A $10 late fee will be accessed to your account for any unpaid monthly fees.

Payments can be placed in the booster club’s payment box. Please do not put any cash in the box. All cash transactions must be handled directly by the booster club office in which a receipt will be provided.

Again, you are highly encouraged to be proactive in handling your account. The booster club is not a collection agency, and will not tolerate parents who avoid past due correspondence. Your child will not be allowed to attend practice if your account is past due. Please do not allow your account to get seriously past due. If you are experiencing a financial hardship, please make an appointment with our office to discuss fundraising opportunities or solutions. Obtaining sponsorships and participating in fundraisers can truly offset the cost of allstar cheerleading. The booster club will attempt to work with you, but everyone must be willing to do their part.

ALL GYM AND BOOSTER CLUB FEES FOR PRIOR SEASON MUST BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE YOUR CHILD WILL BE ALLOWED TO TRYOUT FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON.

Questions & Answers

What is the Booster Club?

The Cheertowne Booster Club is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that provides fundraising opportunities to the cheerleaders and parents of CTA. The Booster Club will offer organized monthly fundraisers throughout the year, which means there will always be an opportunity to offset your cheerleading costs.

Additionally, the booster club will organize fundraisers for the overall improvement of the program such as new equipment. These funds will be disbursed into the General Fund.

How do I become a member, and what are my responsibilities?

Parents will automatically become members when their child is placed on a team, and all initial fees have been paid. All parents are encouraged to share their ideas and volunteer on various committees. Each team will have a fundraising coordinator and team parent/manager.

Are there costs involved with becoming a member of the CTA Booster Club?

There is an annual non-refundable membership fee. If you choose not to fundraise for your cheerleader’s individual account, we still encourage you to support fundraisers that will support the various needs of the program.

What does this membership fee cover?

This membership fee covers operating expenses such as shipping, copy paper, monthly statements and supplies. The membership fee will also contribute/sponsor the end of the year banquet.

What does the Booster Club offer?

The Booster Club will offer monthly fundraisers that sell a product or service. A deadline and delivery date will be posted for each fundraiser. Orders must be handed in to the fundraising chairperson by this date. No deadlines will be extended. The Booster Club may also sponsor fundraisers offering a service such as a golf tournament or bagging groceries for tips. You must volunteer for, or be present during this type of event in order to get credit to your individual account.

Where do the proceeds go?

Monies earned by fundraising will be credited to an account set up in your cheerleader's name. The Booster Club will manage these accounts. This money will be applied towards items or services such as the cost of uniforms, practice clothes, and competitions fees.

Why Fundraise?

Cheerleading expenses can be heavy during the first 4-6 months of the season. Summer and early fall fundraising proceeds can be used towards items such as uniforms and accessories, practice clothes, cheer shoes, and competition fees.

In addition, your financial obligation will increase once the competition season begins due to travel cost such as hotel accommodations, air travel, etc.

Can fundraising monies be used to pay monthly tuition?

Monies earned through fundraising can not be used to pay monthly tuition unless your booster account obligation has been satisfied for the entire cheer season. This can be done by filling out a request for withdrawal/transfer of monies form.

If you owe the gym back tuition at the end of the season, and have funds in your booster account, those funds will automatically we withdrawn and paid to CTA.

How will account statements be distributed?

Statements will be distributed via email on a monthly basis. Additionally, past due statements will be delivered to your child at practice. At any time a parent may request a balance of their account by sending an email to .

What happens if there is money left in my account after the season is over?

If you have money left in your account at the end of the season and your child intends to cheer again the following year, the money can remain in the account to get a jumpstart on the upcoming cheer season. However, if your child decides not to cheer next season and there is a credit left on the account, it will not be reimbursed. Please make every effort to utilize your money throughout the year. Additionally, if your child leaves at any time during the season, leaves a credit on the account, and decides to come back at a later date, the balance will NOT be available.

Will my money be refunded if my child quits, is pulled from a competition by the coach, or is asked to leave the program?

There will be absolutely NO refunds or booster transfers (competition fees, clothing costs, gym fees, etc.) to anyone who quits or is asked to leave the program. Anyone who leaves or is dismissed is responsible for all debts or legal fees.

Do I still have to pay the Choreography fee even if I join late?

Absolutely! We charge this fee regardless of when you join. Otherwise, nobody would attend choreography camp.

Can I charge items to my booster account?

You may only charge CTA apparel to your booster account if your account has been paid in full.

How much will my booster/gym account cost for the entire season?

A new cheerleader will pay approximately $1,713.00 for their booster account and approximately $1,420 for their gym account excluding classes. This does not include travel expenses, etc.

Staying Informed

Upcoming fundraisers and other important Booster Club information will be available on both the CTA website as well as the Booster Club bulletin board. Please check often, as important information, reminders and announcements are frequently posted.

Again, we encourage all parents to get involved! Share your ideas, comments and suggestions. And as always, teach your child basic safety rules when fundraising.
