Come Watch Our Very Own RNE Students Perform!
Crabapple Middle School's award-winning Drama Department presents: Shrek, The Musical

The cast includes 1st grader, Priscilla Lemon; 2nd graders, Beth Scarborough, Clara Haley and Josh Metersky; 3rd grader, Hannah Veale; 5th grader, Maya McCoy; and so many RNE alumni. Crabapple Middle School has an award winning Drama department and is the only middle school approved to do the full Shrek score and script! Tickets will be available at the door ($12/each or $17 for reserved seats – call CMS). There will be four performances at the Milton Center Theater (86 School Drive, Alpharetta):

Saturday, March 15 - 2:00 & 7:00 p.m.

Sunday, March 16 - 3:00 p.m.

Kindergarten Registration is coming to Roswell North Elementary
Wednesday, March 26, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration will be for any students not presently enrolled in Fulton County Schools. Please bring copy of birth certificate; copy of social security card; immunization (form 3231); eye, ear, dental form (form 3300); two proofs of residency.

PTA Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee is composed of the following individuals: Jennifer Whitworth, David White, Maryjean Neely, Kim Jones, andEmily Chandler. Please send an email to f you are interested in a PTA Board position or committee position for the upcoming 2014-2015 school year.The slate proposed by the Nominating Committee will be posted at least 10 days prior to the election of the new board members. The vote for the proposed slate will take place onFriday, April 25th before the school dance. All PTA members are invited to attend the meeting and vote on the purposed slate at that time.

RNE 5th Grade Class Legacy Project - LAST WEEK FOR BRICK SALE!!!!
This year the RNE 5th Grade Class Legacy Project is to build an Outdoor Learning Environment for all grade levels to use and enjoy. This will be constructed in the carpool courtyard. The 5th grade invites you to become a permanent part of the Outdoor Learning Environment by purchasing a $35 commemorative brick for the foundation of the learning center. Proceeds from the brick sales will go toward the building of the Outdoor Learning Environment. Not interested in purchasing a brick? Please consider sending in a donation to help in the completion of this project. Forms are on the RNE PTA website under 5th Grade activities or email Lisa Walker at for a form.Brick sales will end on Friday, March 21 so don't miss out!

Health & Wellness Committee
Parents: The Roswell Recreation and Parks Department, Roswell Youth Football Cheer Association, and the Atlanta Falcons are extremely excited about a FREE clinic on March 30th- this clinic is for PARENTS and KIDS- there will be a parent clinic and a non-contact football clinic for kids that will include information about the latest research on player safety. Participation is limited to 250 kids (we currently have over 225 kids registered- so don’t wait!).

Remember, this is not mandatory! We will try our best to honor your requests, but classes are formed based on many factors. However, if there are extenuating circumstances you feel we need to know about, we will consider those things. Also, please do not name a teacher request. If a teacher’s name is mentioned, the form will be discarded. All requests are due no later than 3/28-no exceptions!

Crabapple Middle School Rising 6th Grade Camp
Crabapple Middle School invites rising 6th graders to a ‘sneak peak’ of what happens in middle school. Their ‘camp day’ allows upcoming students to learn about lockers, middle school classes and the layout of the building. This year, they are offering two dates for this special event: Tuesday July 29th OR Wednesday July 30th. Sessions are from 9:00am-12:30pm. Refreshments and a camp tee-shirt will be provided. Registration is on a first come, first served basis with 200 openings. The registration deadline is May 2nd. Please see the attached registration form for more details.

Pre K Registration will be held Tuesday, April 15th , from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Media Center. Lottery drawing will be held on Wednesday, April 30th at 9 a.m. in the Media Center.

Spring Soiree
Thank you all for your enthusiastic support of this year's Spring Soiree, RNE Foundation’s annual fundraiser. We are excited to announce that our tickets for the event are sold out. If you would like to be placed on the waiting list for tickets, please email a request to and we will contact you if we receive any cancellations or have unused tickets from our sponsors.

Even if you are unable to attend the Soiree, you are invited to bid on any of the event’s silent auction items or purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a seven-day Royal Caribbean® cruise via Raffle tickets can be purchased online for $25 each or five raffle tickets for $100. Bidding starts on Saturday, March 22 and remains open until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29. Silent auction items include spa treatments, children’s birthday parties, summer camps, restaurant gift certificates, creative artwork created by students, one-of-a-kind events hosted by RNE administrators, teachers and staff including an ice cream party at SWEET!, movie tickets at Aurora Complex, miniature golf tickets at the Fringe and pizza parties at Brick House Pizza and Alessio’s Restaurant and Pizzeria.

All live and silent bidding at the event will be conducted via BidPal. Attendees must pre-register on the BidPal website prior to the event in order to bid. Watch for an email from the Foundation next week with detailed instructions.

This year’s event is presented by Carl Black of Roswell and will take place at historic Roswell’s Founders Hall on Saturday, March 29th from 6:30 until 10:00 p.m. Proceeds from the Spring Soiree event fund supplies, equipment and lessons for RNE's Licata Science Lab, one of only two elementary school science labs in North Fulton. Other academic initiatives supported by the event include technology enhancements, teacher training, and curriculum-based science and math education.

Used Book Sale
The Media Center will host the annual used book sale May 14-16. Please donate children’s used books and cookbooks! Also… always looking for volunteers! Contact Martha Powell in the Media Center for more information:

Law Day Art Contest
In April of 2014 the Fulton County Law Day Committee will conduct its annual Law Day Art contest. The contest is intended to help students and the public understand how the law protects our America Freedom. This year the theme is “EVERY VOTE COUNTS”. Students K-5th are invited to submit 1 piece of original artwork that relects their interpretation of this year’s theme. Artwork must be two dimensional drawing, painting or collage, no larger than 18 x 24 in size. Deadline: all entries must be received by April 18, 2014.
