September 2015 –June 2016
12th GRADE
September:
Register for October SAT I or II – be careful of deadline
Visit college representatives at RDHS- check emails for specifics
Hand in Senior Questionnaire, Parent Brag Sheet and RD Activity Sheets
Keep copies of applications and forms sent to colleges
Finish writing essays
Confirm teacher recommendations and give teachers forms, if applicable
Send test scores to colleges
Give counselors transcript forms and envelopes to send information to colleges
Request financial aid applications from colleges
Begin to file rolling admission/regular decision applications
Register for CSS/Financial Aid Profile if necessary
Keep checklist – BE AWARE OF AND MEET ALL DEADLINES
ACT offered in September
Attend Bergen County College Fair night at FDU (Date TBD)

October:
Finish Early Decision and Early Action applications
ACT offered on October 24th
SAT I & II offered on October 3rd
Continue filing rolling and regular decision application

Attend RDHS College Roundtable on October 13th

FAFSA form - on line – sign up for pin numbers only!
Attend RDHS financial aid workshop on November 12th

December:
SAT I & II offered on December 5th
Receive early decision/action decisions
Finish regular decision and rolling admission applications
ACT offered on December 12th
Forward SAT/ACT scores to colleges

January 2015:
Get all financial aid documents in order
Complete FAFSA and send as soon after January 1st as possible
Begin to rank schools where you have applied for preference

February – March 2015:
Send Mid-Year report to colleges, if required
Review SAR (Student Aid Report) carefully
Review Financial Aid packages
Stay in touch with your counselor regarding the status of your applications
Apply for community scholarships
Keep up your grades!
April 2015:
Visit schools where accepted
Make final decision – mail deposit to ONE college
If wait listed, contact admissions office if still interested
Make sure you meet all financial aid requirements

May 1st – National College Deposit Deadline
Request final transcript to be sent to the college you plan to attend
Follow all procedures for college housing and orientation
Analyze projected first year college budget
Check banking options in college town
