GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

This position is primarily responsible for providing individual clinical supervision to Behavioral Therapy Services, Intensive In-Home, and Therapeutic Day Treatment staff in the Northern Shenandoah Valley offices as well as facilitating group and/or peer supervisions. This position will collaborate with the Director of Community Based Services in the achievement of clinical goals including increasing clinical skills of staff and training of staff for effective trauma-informed service delivery. This position will include training staff on related topics to community based services.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, REQUIREMENTS AND PREREQUISITES

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or other Human Services field with 3 years of experience in providing psychotherapy to children adolescents and families.
  • Virginia State License required (i.e. LCSW, LPC, Ph. D, LMFT)
  • Program management or program development experience preferred.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and ability to supervise clinicians during licensure process
  • Knowledge of issues related to children including understanding the impact of trauma, loss/grief, attachment, and mental health diagnoses.
  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with state licensing, Medicaid and other accreditation standards
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Familiarity with state licensing and Medicaid standards preferred
  • Valid Drivers’ License and proof of insurance
  • Satisfactory Driving Record
  • Previous experience with and knowledge of issues specific to children receiving behavioral and mental health services. (e.g., Autism, ADHD, ODD, attachment, etc…)
  • Ability to provide training on relevant topics related to community based services to staff
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule including weekend and evening work
  • Ability to travel the Northern Shenandoah Valley region to provide clinical supervision
  • Ability to work independently to support the mission, values and strategic plan of Lutheran Family Services of Virginia, Inc.
  • Ability to complete Crisis De-escalation, First Aid, and CPR Certification as provided by LFSVA
  • Good oral, written, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to organize work effectively
  • Ability to maintain records, prepare reports and required paperwork according to licensing and agency requirements on a timely basis
  • Basic computer skills and experience working with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to observe health and safety regulations

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions: May be required to perform any of the following duties:

  • Responsible for identifying areas for clinical professional development and collaborating with the Director of Community Based Services to create and establish clinical protocol materials
  • Provides and coordinates direct individual clinical supervision to all Community Based Services staff
  • Facilitates group and/or peer supervision with staff
  • Participates in pertinent staff meetings including disposition meetings and critical incident staffing’s
  • Ability to develop and facilitate trainings to staff on relevant topics related to community based services topics
  • Ability to embrace the spirit of teamwork and to work independently to support the mission, values and strategic plan of Lutheran Family Services of Virginia, Inc.
  • Ability to travel within the Northern Shenandoah Valley region
  • Facilitates with the Director of Community Based Servicesin the coordination and development of Community Based Services.
  • Provides consultation to staff and managers in emergency/crisis situations
  • Participates in crisis intervention and provides support as required, including providing interventions in the home to prevent disruption
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work evenings and weekends if required
  • Review charts as relevant to cases
  • Participates in training and professional development opportunities
  • Performs administrative tasks, including tracking outcomes and service delivery, submission of expense reports, employee leave report documentation etc.
  • Conduct and/or review, as evidenced by legal signature and date of occurrence, Therapeutic Day Treatment, Behavioral Therapy, and Intensive In-Home services assessments and other clinical paperwork including but not limited to: Service Plans (Preliminary and Comprehensive), Vineland or other Adaptive Functioning Assessment, Daily Contact Notes, Attendance Logs, Supervision Logs, and other relevant clinical documentation, in accordance with the policies and procedures of LFSVA.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
