Extra help is available Tuesday –Friday after school in room 315 until 2:30pm or by appointment.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Students are expected to arrive on time and prepared for class. This means that students will have the following materials every day:
  2. Class text book (covered)
  3. Class notebook
  4. Pencil with an eraser

Graphing Calculatorsare available each block to sign out. Use the online link below for homework:

  1. Be respectful of yourself, your peers, your teacher and the classroom. This means having a positive attitude and treating others the way you would want to be treated. ABSOLUTELY NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS AT ANY TIME.
  1. Sit in assigned seats unless otherwise specified by your teacher. Please refrain from getting out of your seat during a lesson or activity.
  1. Show all your work as it was modeled in class.
  1. Ask questions. Assume a pop-quiz will be given the next class, if you leave the room unsure of something it is your responsibility to ask for clarification!!!

ABSENSES

  1. STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO GET THEIR ASSIGNMENTS BEFORE THE NEXT CLASS IF THEY ARE ABSENT ONLY ONE DAY (especially when on a field trip, tardy to school or early dismissal).
  1. All homework that was due the day of the absence, as well as any new homework assigned that day is due upon the students return to class.
  1. Students have five school days from the day a test or quiz is given to make it up. The student is responsible for finding out if a test or quiz was given. All tests and quizzes not made up on time will entered as a zero.
  1. It is expected that if you are absent for any reason that you EMAIL THE TEACHER !!!!!!!

GRADING

Your grade each quarter will be calculated as follows:

85% - Periodic Assessments:Tests, Quizzes and Projects

15% - Daily Assessments:Homework and Participation

Tests and Quizzes

  1. Use pencil
  2. Show all work in a neat and organized manner as demonstrated in class
  3. Make all test or quiz corrections in pen or on a separate piece of paper
  4. Tests will be given at the end of each unit or topic with notice
  5. Quizzes will be given frequently during each term with or without notice. It is good practice to expect a “pop-quiz” each day so you are prepared

Projects may be assigned during the year. Research may be required outside of the classroom. Point values will vary depending on the length and the complexity of the assignment.

Homework

Expect homework every class.

  1. Homework must be completed before you come to class
  2. Show all work in a neat an organized manner as demonstrated in class
  3. Try every problem or you will not receive full credit, “I didn’t get it” is not an excuse!
  4. Homework is based on effort and not accuracy (unless it is collected)

4 = 100% complete with work shown

3 = 75% to <100% complete with work shown

2 = 50% to <75% complete with work shown

1 = 25% to <50% complete with work shown

0 = 0% to <25% complete (or copied homework)

CELL PHONE POLICY

Cell phones are not permitted in class unless directed by the teacher. Students using a cell phone without permission will result in the following actions:

  • 1st offense - Verbal warning to put the cell phone away
  • 2nd offense - Student will place their phone on the teacher’s desk for the remainder of class
  • 3rd offense – Student will receive a teacher detention and parent/guardian will be contacted
  • 4th offense – Student will be referred to administration
