RULES

When entering an animal it is a condition of entry that these rules are abided by.

1.The Officials and Council of the NCPA accept no responsibility for loss, injury or damage to any person or their property whilst on the Showground, car parks or approaches. (All entries are subject to these conditions).

2.Exhibitors alone are solely responsible for the accuracy and eligibility of their entries. No entry will be accepted unless accompanied by the correct fee. In the event of an entry proving incorrect, (whether by mistake or otherwise), the entryfee will not be returned.

3.An Exhibitor may not exhibit a pony bred, sold, leased or produced by the judge, his/her immediate family or his/her employer.

4.Show canes and whips must not be more than 30 inches long.

5.Ponies must leave the ring in an orderly fashion.

6.All RIDERS must wear hats which comply to ALL PAS 015,VG1,ASTM F116304a onwards, SNELL E2001, AS/NZS 3838 2003 onwards whilst mounted, whether exhibiting or not.

7.Mountain and Moorland ponies must be shown in natural state.

8.Mountain and Moorland ponies must be registered with their respective Breed Society, and the registration number quoted on the entry form.

9.All heights of youngstock will be in accordance with the heights for age laid down by the NPS.

10.All Stallions and Colts must be handled/ridden by a person 12 years of age or over, and be adequately bitted and under control. The Committee reserves the right to expel from the Championships or Showground any animal not considered to be under control, especially where a danger to the public could be created.

11.No mucking out of horseboxes/trailers or litter left on the showground.

12.All Exhibitors must be wearing the allocated number for the Exhibit when entering the ring.

13.Handlers and Grooms MUST be appropriately dressed when entering the ring and are advised to wear a hard hat.

14.The judge’s decision is final.

15.In the event of the Show being cancelled by events beyond our control, an administration fee of £5 will be deducted from each Exhibitor.

16.Exhibitors must have public liability insurance when competing at NCPA events.

The Organisers and Show Committee will take any necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of persons on the Showground. It is a condition of entry to the Showground that all persons will act on any instructions given to them by the Show Committee, in so far that it can affect the health and safety of all. All Competitors must take due regard to Section 7 of the Health and Safety Act and have due regard for the safety of others.

**This show is a qualifier for the N.C.P.A. Pony of The Year held in September 2017. First, second & third prize winners in appropriate classes will qualify. **

**This show is a qualifier for the N.C.P.A. GOLDEN SUPREMES held in September 2017. ALL Champion & Reserve prize winners will qualify. **

*STAR ROSETTES will be awarded in classes 18, 20, 42, 64 & 65

+REGISTER ROSETTES will be awarded in classes 17, 18, 19, 20, 42, 64 & 65

This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Championship Show on 23rd -26th August. The 1st & 2nd prizewinners inclasses 20 &21 & the 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizewinners in classes 41,42, 60 &61 & the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4thprizewinners in classes 54,55,58 & 59 will qualify.

Classes 21,22,24, 37-40,65& 66 are non qualifying classes for the Summer Championships.

Competitors competing in BSPS classes must only use Tack permissible in BSPS classes on the showground whilst mounted & are subject to the rules of BSPS whether members or not.

B.S.P.S. PREMIER LEAGUE – This show is a qualifier for the “B.S.P.S. Premier League”, the 1st, 2nd, 3 & 4thplaced ponies in the Lead Rein, First Ridden, Open Show Pony, Lead Rein of Hunter Type, OpenS.H.P, Intermediate SRT, SH and Heritage Leading Rein, First Ridden Open Ridden, HWHP, Cradle, N/Stakes, & Open WHP Classes.

B.S.P.S. Classic Security UK Ltd CHALLENGE This is a qualifier for the B.S.P.S. Challenge. –Animalswill qualify by attending any B.S.P.S. affiliated Show and have competed in theappropriate class. Ponies must not have qualified for the 2017 HOYS.

B.S.P.S. “Black Country Saddles” BEST RIDER. The Best Rider in each of the following Open classes at all BSPS Affiliated Shows will be awarded a Best Rider card and qualify for the final at the B.S.P.S. Summer Championship Show:- Lead Rein, First Ridden, Show Pony, Lead Rein of Hunter Type, S.H.P., Intermediate SRT, SH, Cradle, N/Stakes, Open WHP, Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden and the best rider 25 years and under in the Heritage Ridden Classes.

Ponies that have been placed 1st in an Open Heritage Class will qualify for the BSPS “Indiustrial Salt Supplies” WOW Factor at the BSPS Summer Championship Show

Competition Horse/Pony In Hand

Classes 13 & 14 are for young, athletic horses/ ponies which have the conformation and movement to go to the top of their sphere. All animals will enter the ring to be assessed as a class and for the temperament of each individual animal. All exibits will then leave the ring and re-enter individually for allocation of marks. The class to be judged in a triangle in the following manner:

1. Judge to stand at A. Exhibit will be awarded marks for conformation to a maximum of 20.

2. The exhibit to walk the triangle: A-B, B-C, C-A. Marks to be awarded to a maximum of 20 for the walk.

3. The exhibit to trot the triangle: A-B, B-C, C-A. Marks to be awarded to a maximum of 20 for the trot.

4. Overall impression to be awarded out of a maximum of 20 as the exibit leaves the ring.

5. Exibits return to the ring for the presentation of awards.
