Board Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, July 11th, 2017
Meeting called to order by Vice-President Elizabeth Matvick at 7:00p.m. Quorum was declared.
Board Members present: Erica Gisel, Catie Cison-Flaten Elizabeth Matvick, Barb Swanson, Jackie Jiran, Kristie Mitchell, Jennifer Maass and Melissa Hukriede.
Board members absent: Jenn Gizinski

Meet and Greet: None
President’s Report: Board and coaches meet for a meal/snacks and kick-off the start of the skate year is scheduled July 20th 5:15 – 5:45 in the Rainbow Room. Discussion on agenda to include:
· Social event meant to be fun and bring unity between the coaches and Board
· Ice breaker to introduce each other
· Explain our values and use the new coaches document as a reference on the culture of our Club is to bring unity between skaters, coaches, parents and the Board
Secretary’s Report: Motion made, Seconded and carried unanimously to approve the June meeting minutes and with the correction of the spelling of Katt Parsons name. Motion made, Seconded and carried unanimously to approve the June e-mail meeting minutes.
Treasurer’s Report: $1832 + proceeds from this year’s River City Days will be in the Coach’s account for State Games. This is allocated equally to each of the Coaches who are representing competing skaters at State Games. The allocation will go to current Home Club Members who are in good standing.
Motion made, Seconded and carried unanimously any funds raised/allocated towards State Games of America are for current Home Club Members in good standing only.
Safe Sport: No new reports.
Communication: No report.
Ice Coordinator: Discussion to leave the pricing for the Junior Club bundle at $425 and eliminate the regular Club session as part of the bundle
Waconia Ice is not available in the Fall for Wednesdays, but Ice Coordinator will contact Waconia to confirm. If Waconia is not available for the 1st 5 weeks in the Fall, Ice Coordinator will check with the CCC and Victoria to see if Wednesday Ice is available in Chaska or Victoria.
Marketing/PR: Discussion on content for August Newsletter to River City Days, importance on stretching and warm-up before practicing, Test Track vs. Well Balanced, pics of new members. Discussion to order Club Jackets once a quarter and put them on Uplifter with each new contract. Articles for newspapers are going out this week for the local papers. Electronic video board being updated now that membership is in. Club apparel site is closed and clothing is due to be in the last week of July.

Motion made, Seconded and carried unanimously to approve July 2017 Membership Report with the two conditional on paperwork being received.
TCFSA: No meeting. No report.
Test Chair: Discussion we would like to offer a test session this summer after State Games.
Social: Movie night went well with all the skaters attending together. Next social event is at the July Exhibition going to have a pizza party before-hand 5:30 – 6:00p.m. in the lobby. Social event for State Games Wednesday night putt-putt and Friday night Team dinner. More details will come out on this.
Fundraising: River City Days still needs volunteers. We are still getting the same booths as last year. Promotional table is out.
Pro Liaison: 2 skaters signed up for the Junior Club promotion. 1 skater has already signed up for Junior Club.
Volunteer Coordinator: Still need volunteers for River City Days.
Junior Club Coordinator: Membership Chair to let Junior Club Coordinator know when a new Junior Club member has joined. Junior Club Coordinator will put together a reach out to the new family.
Ad Hoc Committee Reports:
Older Girls Group: On summer hiatus.
Star of The North: No report.
Policy and Procedure Updates: No report.
Ice Show: No report.
Spring Banquet: No report.
Old Business: Send out save the date for annual mandatory parent/skater meeting.
New Business: Discussion to give the young Skate School skaters a CFSC trinket for their participation. Barb Swanson will take care of this. Discussion to have the older girls present the items to the youngest skaters at the Exhibition.
Motion made, Seconded and carried to change the August Board meeting date from August 8th to August 15th.
Discussion to clean out the skater folder and mail necessary items to any old members.
