General
This form is to be used in conjunction with TUI Task Card 72-TOM-006 or 72-TOM-007 to record borescope inspection findings for the combustion chamber, HPT nozzle and HPT blades.
Pages 2-3 should also be used as an aid to track the removal and installation of borescope plugs as the inspection proceeds.
NOTEs
1. ON COMPLETION OF THE INSPECTION, THIS FORM MUST BE RETaiNED in the workpack WITH THE
orignating workorder and AMOS TASK Certification document.
PLEASE SCAN A COPY AND SEND TO: +POWERPLANT EMAIL GROUP.
2. RECORD ALL SIGNIFICANT findings ON pages 4-15 OF THIS DOCUMENT. if necessary, make
photocopies of these illustrations to capture multiple findings.
3. PROVIDE DIMENSIONS AND PHOTOS (with file names) WHERE AVAILABLE. where possible, photos
should be taken using borescope equipment that has provision for measurement such as a
stereo measuring tip.
4. THESE BOROSCOPE INSPECTIONS FORM PART OF THE ‘ON CONDITION’ MAINTENANCE PROGRAM SET OUT IN
THE ENGINE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM. AS SUCH, A SIMPLE SERVICABLE / UNSERVICABLE IS NOT sufficient.
THE RESULTS OF THIS BOROSCOPE MAY BE USED TO DETERMINE THE OVERHAUL DATE OR OTHER
MAINTENANCE.
5. THE DEFINITION OF A sIGNIFCANT FINDING is as follows:
· ANY DEFECT THAT REDUCES THE INTERVAL OF INSPECTIONS.
· an DEFECT that is likely to reduce an inspection interval at the next inspection.
· ANY FECT THAT IS WORSE THAN THE GENERAL CONDITION OF THE ENGINE.
· ANY DEFECT THAT THE INDIVIDUAL INSPECTOR CONSIDERS UNUSUAL.
6. The purpose of the Engine Condition Report (page 15) is to supply the Powerplant department
with deterioration data for analysis of engine condition to facilitate engine removal
planning. It is an assessment of the general condition of the engine.
