Dear Rotary Friends,

Due to the recent tornado in Lancaster, TX there is a need for non-perishable food donations and Union Pacific Railroad has stepped up to the plate to be the collection point. You probably saw the images of flying tractor/trailers at the Schneider facility. It was only 5 miles from my office in Wilmer. We were blessed to have been spared so we're eager to help others who were not so fortunate.

UnionPacific will be collecting non-perishable food items through April30th. I think this is a great project for our club to assist. If you'd like to help, please bring your non-perishable food donations to our weekly luncheon at Texas Landand Cattle on Thursday April 26th and I'll make sure it gets to Union Pacific. They are requesting Hamburger Helper, Macaroni& Cheese, Peanut Butter, Cereals, Canned Meats such as Spam/Chicken,Tuna/Beef Stew, Ravioli, etc..., Soups, Fruit Cups, Ramen Noodles& any other non-perishable foods.

Union Pacific will deliver the collections direcly to the Lancaster Relief Center. Any foodthat is not need for tornado relief will remain at the Lancaster Relief Center for use throughout the rest of the year for residents of Lancaster, Wilmer and Hutchins who are in need. There are very depressed areas in those locations where the need is great all year.
