CALL TO ORDER
President of Council Cris Nesbitt called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM

INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mr. Nesbitt led those in attendance in the Our Father and the Pledge of Allegiance.

ROLL CALL
Council Members Present: Mr. Cox, Mr. Gertz, Mr. Lynd, Mr. Albrinck, Mr. Lindeman, Mr. Ashbrock Mr. Fischesser.

Other Officials Present:
Mayor “Bo” Bemmes, Safety Service Director Patrick Ross, Treasurer Mel Gertz, Law Director Dave Stevenson, Auditor Sabrina Smith & Clerk of Council Carla Kacher.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
Marcie Longenecker of Josh Mandel’s office presented council with a Powerpoint Presentation regarding the Ohiocheckbook.com. This is the website that will produce all of Reading’s expenditures for public viewing.

READING OF RESOLUTIONS
READING OF ORDINANCES
(1) AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE AUDITOR TO MAKE PAYMENT WITH
REGARDS TO THE COMMERCIAL LOAN FOR $37,826.17 AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY
Motion made by Mr. Fischesser, seconded by Mr. Cox to suspend the rules requiring asecond and third reading. Motion carried by a 7-0 roll call vote. Motion made by Mr. Lindeman, seconded by Mr.Fischesser to adopt the resolution. Ordinance passed by a 7-0 roll call vote.

ORDINANCE ADOPTED ORDINANCE NO. 2016-55

(2) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2015-69 PROVIDING FOR THE
ADDITIONAL PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING SECURITY EQUIPMENT FOR THE
PREVIOUSLY AUTHORIZED MASTER LEASE PURCHASE AGREEMENT AND
PAYMENT SCHEDULE 001 BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF READING, OHIO
AND FIFTH THIRD BANK.
Motion made by Mr. Fischesser, seconded by Mr. Lynd to suspend the rules requiring a second and third reading. Motion carried by a 7-0 roll call vote. Motion made by Mr. Fischesser, seconded by Mr. Cox to adopt the ordinance. Ordinance passed by a 7-0 roll call vote.

ORDINANCE ADOPTED ORDINANCE NO. 2016-56

OTHER BUSINESS
Motion made by Mr. Gertz, seconded by Mr. Ashbrock to allow the Auditor to go “live” with the Ohiocheckbook.com website information. Motion carried by voice vote.
Mel Gertz: Reported that we are currently at $797,728.00 for the month. This puts us $224,00.00 ahead for the month, $347,000.00 ahead for the year or 8%.

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business meeting was adjourned at 8:00.
COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE
Council discussed at length possible projects for which to spend CDGB money.
Mr. Gertz began a discussion about the treescapes in Reading and the tree ordinance that Mr. Cox is currently working on.
