Receipts: After you paid, you should have received an email from the University of Edinburgh finance office, stating that your payment had been received. I hope that this can serve as a receipt for reimbursement, but if anyone has particularly pernickety administrators at their own university, a receipt can be given on registration. Please ask if you need one.

Paying on arrival

Please NOTE that payments must either be by cheque to the University of Edinburgh, or in cash. There are no facilities to pay by credit card at that point.

Tuesday 13 December

Registration from 1400 until 2200.

Welcome buffet in the College Lounge at 1830. Mineral water and orange juice will be included, and the bar in the venue will be open for cash sales 1800-Midnight.

Wednesday 14 December

Breakfast in the Middle Floor Dining Room using meal cards issued by the reception staff at time of check-in.

The registration desk will be at the entrance to the venue, and will be open from 8am.

The talks will be in the Auditorium, and parallel sessions in the Carnegie and Wardlaw rooms. The first talk each day will be at 9am (EVEN on the day after the conference dinner!). Posters will be displayed in the Concourse Walkway (just outside the meeting rooms), or on free-standing boards nearby for the duration of the conference.

Lunches will be near the Concourse Area, and will be a hot buffet. There will be some informal seating/tables.

On Wednesday evening a drinks reception will be held at the same place as lunch Portrait Corner, 1700-1800, followed by a self-service dinner at 1800 in the Middle Floor Mezzanine Dining Room using vouchers which will be provided on registration for those staying for that evening.

PLEASE NOTE that this Dining Room closes at 19.15. If you have paid only for the days and wish to have dinner that evening, this will be possible (£10.50). The Lectern Bar will be open that evening until 2300.

Thursday 15 December

The Conference Dinner is a buffet dinner in the College Lounge at 1900. The dinner will include some wine, and the bar will again be open (1830-0100). The ceilidh will be after the dinner. I am hopeful that everyone who asked to attend the Conference Dinner will be able to be accommodated (certainly everyone who booked the complete package and wished for the dinner). Others will eat in the Middle Floor Mezzanine Dining Room (between 18.00 and 19.15 (sorry about the times), and join the others in the College Lounge after dinner for the ceilidh. You will be told at registration whether you will get the Conference Dinner or the other dinner, and the former people will be asked to pay the £15 at that stage (cash or a cheque made out to the University of Edinburgh, please). Apologies for the complicated arrangements about the dinner, which are due to limited space in the College Lounge.

Friday 16 December.

Buffet lunch is at 1230.
