Using CIITS for Teacher Made Assessments by Rob Paugh / June 3, 2015

Assessment Literacy (3D) by Randi Womack / June 5, 2015

(30 Limit) / Assessment literacy is a professional learning opportunity to engage teachers in conversation about how to better understand student thinking and learning. The techniques for assessment “for” learning is not new or necessarily innovative. Based on the work of Richard Stiggins et al, we will use the Kentucky Framework for Teaching as the model for what formative and summative assessment looks like in the classroom. With their own content standards in hand, teachers will start examining their own practices to see if they are conducive for effective learning. In the end, teachers must ask, what is my defensible evidence that students mastered the content that has been taught? Participants will need to bring standards and assessments.

Special Education Update by John D’Angelo / July 24, 2015
8:00AM-3:00PM / 6 Hours / PDLC / K-12 Special Education and General Education Teachers, Counselors and Principals / Participants will learn practical and immediately applicable instructional strategies which will support all students (including those with disabilities and those learning English) in accessing grade level, general education content. These strategies will include flexibility in the ways information is presented, in the ways students demonstrate learning and in the ways students are engaged. Participants will gain experience planning lessons that employ these strategies. Educators should bring a current IEP as well as a laptop, iPad or chromebook to this meeting.

Teachmeet KY will create an environment for at least three strands of presentations facilitated by teachers from all around the world. A keynote speaker will begin the session and encourage teachers to integrate technology into their curriculum as a tool to assist in student achievement. A variety of topics will be covered during the sessions; teachers will be able to go to computer labs and work with a technology leader to answer questions and participate in lesson development.
