Operator License Renewals/Certifications/Expirations (September)

  • Reviewed, no comments or issues received

Paperwork Submittal Time Frames

  • Reviewed the “Renewal Process” document.
  • Received questions regarding turn around time, processing of renewals and maintaining licenses.

Continuing Education Training

  • Reviewed the “Approved Courses” and “Denied Courses” reports.
  • Discussed the importance of safety training and that the Board approves up to 10 hours of “indirectly” related training.
  • Jerry Williams from Delaware Technical & Community College discussed training opportunities and employment services offered.

BOC Website

  • Discussed the website and what information is contained on it.
  • Glenn discussed the newsletter.

BOC Announcement

  • Peder Hansen is stepping down from the Board of Certification and the Surface Water Discharges Section to take a position with the Public Service Commission.

Open Forum

  • Jerry Esposito polled all in attendance their feelings/perception of approved/denied courses.
  • The 10 hours of direct & indirect training is now a policy and fully enforced.
  • The BOC policy is more lenient than the actual regulation regarding CETs.
  • Discussed Delaware’s license classifications versus New Jersey and Maryland.
  • Lori Brown provided an overview of the tour.
  • For those in attendance will receive one (1) hour for the meeting and one (1) hour for the tour.
