More Information: Edisto Conference is an Honor Band Clinic that includes the schools of Williston, Barnwell, Bamberg, Allendale, Estill, Bowman, North, Edisto, HKT, Branchville, Lake Marion, Blackville, and Denmark. Students from these schools will be nominated by their director to participate in the Honor Band Clinic. Students in grades 6-8 that are selected will attend an audition on Thursday, February 27th. High School students selected will be seated by their Region Band Audition Scores and then by nominations.
The Honor Band will meet on Friday, February 28th during the school day and into the early afternoon in Bamberg. Students will be seated in a band comprised of students from these different schools and will practice new music under a new director. Students will return on Saturday morning to continue rehearsing so they can give a wonderful performance on Saturday afternoon!
Solo/ Ensemble Festival is a great opportunity for students to perform alone as a solo or in a small group as an ensemble. This festival will be taking place on Saturday, April 26th at Aiken High School. Students will be able to choose their piece to perform and choose the group to play with for the festival.
Both the Edisto Conference Honor Band and the Solo/ Ensemble Festival are required major performances for every student in the band program. The cost for both of these events, as stated in the course syllabus at the beginning of the year, is $25.00. Please turn your money in to Mrs. Salomone by Thursday, January 30th. If a student is not selected by the Edisto Conference Committee to participate in the clinic then that student will receive a partial reimbursement and his/her grade will not be docked.

I give my child ______permission to travel to Bamberg for Edisto Conference and Aiken for Solo/ Ensemble Festival. I understand that they will be going to Edisto Conference on Thursday, February 27th, Friday, February 28th, and Saturday, March 1st. The students will return back to the school at the conclusion of each day. I also give my child permission to travel to Aiken High School on Saturday, April 26th to participate in the SCBDA Solo/ Ensemble Festival. I understand the student will be under school supervision, however, the school and those in charge will not be held responsible in case of accident.
