About the Coach:
I have been coaching High School Gymnastics since 2000. Prior to High School Gymnastics, I coached primarily at Medina Gymnastics Academy from 1996-2002 working with the Compulsory and Optional Programs. Other facilities I have worked at include West Side Gymnastics (Copley), Lake Erie Gymnastics School (LEGS – Mentor). This year I volunteered at the Kent State University Gymnastics Camp in June and attended the USA Gymnastics Regional Congress in Columbus this past fall.
Some of my certifications in addition to my teaching license (1-8) include: First Aid, CPR, Concussion Management and Fundamentals of Coaching. I am background checked through USA Gymnastics, Kent State University and Brunswick City Schools. I graduated from the University of Akron in 2001 and I also have my Masters +30. I began teaching in 2001 at Edwards Middle School.
I’ve been married for 7 years to my husband Luke who scores all of my high school meets. We have two daughters Chloe (4), who likes dance, gymnastics and soccer and Miley (18 months) who likes to jump on the trampoline. We are both Brunswick High School Alumni. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family at the lake swimming and boating.

2013-2014
Dear Parents and Gymnasts,
It is a great honor to be on the BHS Gymnastics Team and represent your high school! There are many rewards to being on the team such as media recognition throughout the community, scholarship opportunities and athletic honors. High School Gymnastics is a very competitive program, especially in our conference and district. The private club schedule has been reconstructed to accommodate the OHSAA Gymnastics schedule allowing girls to compete for both by having qualifying club meets after the high school season. Girls who compete Level 10 club also compete High School Gymnastics and State Qualifiers/Placers look great on college applications as well as to college scouts.
There have been some changes made that will hopefully help the team as well as individuals be even more successful than they were on the high school team in the past. Listed on the following page are skills that we will be looking for the high school gymnasts to have. I would like to use this as a guideline for what the gymnasts should be working on at their gyms over the summer to train for their High School Season. The skills are based on the minimum requirements for high school routines set by OHSAA.
The skills listed on the next page will be used to rank the gymnasts. There is not a maximum number of gymnasts that can make the team; any gymnasts that has the skills to compete at the high school level and contribute to the team will be on the team. This also does not eliminate a gymnast if they compete on only one event. I hope that these guidelines motivate the girls to continue to work out during the off-season as well as give them some goals to work on over the summer.
Thank you,
Michelle Miller
