CHAPTER ANNUAL PLAN
1 July 2018to 30 June 2019
CHAPTER OVERALL PROGRAM (ANNUAL PLAN): program of meetings and activities for the Operational Year 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019. Chapter objectives include:
* Support soldiers and their families to the greatest extent possible.
* Translating AUSA’s professional and educational mission and objectives into
Chapter activities.
* Provide and support activities that benefit Chapter membership and our
communities.
* Promote and increase individual and corporate community involvement in Chapter
activities.
* Generate greater corporate membership involvement in Chapter activities.
* Improve Chapter communications via interpersonal means and the web.
* Improve Soldier activities in the Chapter.
* Attain Chapter of Excellence status.
* Give Priority to ESGR – Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.
PROPOSED ACTIVITIES;
1. GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS: The following General Membership
meetings will be held during the operational year.
- The first meeting is programmed for September 13, 2018 will recognize all RIAUSA members and thanking them all for their support.
- The second meeting for October 16, 2018 will recognize Soldiers, NCO’s and Recruiters from various RI Army Reserve and RI National Guard Command. Also, Soldiers from the Active Army’s Recruiting Company will be recognized
- The third meeting for 4 December 2018 is dedicated to having a meeting and celebrating Christmas. Having a Holiday Party.
- The forth meeting for April 20, 2019 is dedicated to having a New Soldier’s Symposium.

d. The year’s final meeting (5th) is programmed for11 June 2019 and Scholarship Awards
. to be given. Corporate members, sustaining members and major sponsors to be invited.
Chapter will observe the Army’s Birthday and Flag Day.
2. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETINGS: The Executive Committee meets on the
third Wednesday of the month. See Enclosure 1 (Scheduled Meetings)
- MEMERSHIP ACTIVITIES: Responsibility of Vice President for Membership and
the Vice President for Corporate Membership and their assistants.
a. A Corporate Membership Drive will be conducted during the operational year in the
October-December time frame. The plan will identify potential new members, involve
close coordination with the Armed Forces Committee (AFC) or Military Affairs
Committee of the Providence Chamber of Commerce and will be followed by a personal
Prospective businesses by volunteer teams if possible.
- A General Membership Drive will be conducted with an aggressive and widely
recognized program of activities for the soldiers, DA civilians and their families. The
Drive is scheduled for November – February time frame.
4: SPECIAL PROJECTS:
- Army Birthday. The Chapter will observe the Army’s Birthday 11June 2019with appropriate ceremonies. Support will also be provided to military organizations for
various ceremonies. This program will support professionalism within the Army and
promote pride in the Army and the Nation.
- AUSA Resolutions Development. Resolutions recommendations to be forwarded to
National.
- National Annual Meeting. There will be Chapter representation.
- First Region Spring Meeting. There will be Chapter representation.
- Sponsorship of networking meetings for parents of deployed RA Soldiers in conjunction
with RA Army Recruiting Company.

f. ROTC/JROTC/RING OCS. Rhode Island Chapter to present AUSA leadership Awards to ROTC
Cadets from Providence College and the University of Rhode Island. PMS at local
colleges are responsible for procuring AUSA-ROTC medal(s) and AUSA History awards
from National. Chapter will present AUSA Leadership Awards to distinguished JROTC
graduates of Rogers High, Newport; Cranston East HS; Hope High School, Providence;
Coventry High School and Woonsocket High School. Chapter to support the Rhode
Island National Guard’s 243rd Regiment (RTI) OCS Military Academy.
g. Golf Tournament. Chapter to support an Annual Golf Tournament. Proceeds to benefit
Rhode Island Military Families and a Scholarship
h. Awards. Vice President for Awards to establish program.
(1)Outstanding Soldier Awards. Chapter to offer Soldier of the Year and NCO of the Year, Regular Army, and Army Reserve Recruiter Awards.
(2)Academic Grants. Chapter has established “academic grants totaling $1000.00”
(1 awardfor $1000.00 or 2 awards for $500.00 each).
(4)ILW. Donation NTE $150.00, plus a portion of the proceeds from a raffle to
support the ILW. Submit to AUSA National NLT 30 June 2019.
(5) Army History Donation NTE $100.00.
