Assistant Director of Donor Relations

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte announces an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing development team.We have an opening for a Assistant Director of Donor Relationswithin the Department of Donor Relations. JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

The Assistant Director of Donor Relations is responsible for managing and coordinating recognition and engagement programs for the Office of Donor Relations to support the University’s fundraising staff. This position will provide consultation on recognition and engagement opportunities, create and improve tools to be used across campus, and collaborate across departments to provide input on donor stories and donor events. The Assistant Director of Donor Relations will analyze trends to develop and recommend new approaches to donor recognition and engagement through videos, social media, and a variety of other channels to improve the University’s overall recognition and engagement efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage donor recognition efforts including creating and coordinating giving societies and related stewardship, and managing recognition signage on campus

  • Coordinate the strategy and invitation list for the University Box for football

  • Create and execute an annual donor nomination plan including writing and submitting nominations

  • Oversee the distribution of the foundation seats for football and basketball and the process for Chancellor Lunches with donors

  • Strategize and compile targeted event invitation lists and plan and execute meaningful event follow-up
    Build and maintain a database of existing named spaces on campus

  • Draft and edit a variety of materials including donor recognition, nominations, acknowledgement letters, and gift agreements

  • Assist the Director of Donor Relations in the development and implementation of donor engagement plans and the scheduling of donor visits to campus

  • Assist with gift documentation and the stewardship of gifts including drafting acknowledgement letters and executing reporting

  • Develop and recommend new approaches to donor recognition and engagement based on trends

  • Provide guidance onCASEStandards, University Policies, and Advancement operational guidelines

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with two or more years of professional experience in Donor Relations.

  • Two or more years of professional advancement or development writing.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to deliver high-quality work.

  • Experience working in higher education in Advancement or non-profits

  • The ideal candidate works well under pressure, possesses excellent time management and organizational skills, and can manage multiple priorities and projects independently, simultaneously, and successfully.CFRE preferred.
