Decathlon Competition:

The British Swimming Masters Decathlon is an annual competition which rewards swimmers aged 25 years and over who try their hand at competing in races across a range of strokes and distances.

The British Swimming Masters Decathlon competition has two main aims: one is to encourage greater participation across the different swimming events, and the other is to encourage competition across the different Masters age groups.

It works by awarding points to the competitors who swim in 10 different swims throughout the year at qualifying Masters meets.

Points are awarded for each swim using the FINA points scoring tables and these points are then age-adjusted. At the end of the year awards are given to the top three overall male and female swimmers with the highest total points scores, and the top male and top female clubs.

There are no entry forms to complete or entry fees to pay and the competition runs from 1st January to 31st December inclusive.

Each swim is awarded points as per the FINA points scoring tables. The time is age adjusted using the Finnish formulae. Both Long Course and Short Course swims are included with swims in each course scored using the relevant table.
