BAMI Core Training Group (CTG) Fall2013 - May 2014

After receiving your application, we will notify you as soon as possible as to whether you have been accepted. In order to register at the discounted CTG rate, you must register for a minimum of five (5) Full-Day Saturday/Sunday Morning training sessions and pay for those sessions either in full, or by post-dated checks (See payment instructions and refund policy below.)

If for any reason you are not able to attend a session, you are expected to inform the trainer(s) and members as far in advance as possible. There will be no refund for missed sessions. It is also possible to register for individual Saturday and/or Sunday sessions at full fee.

Scholarship Donations/Information and Applications:

We strive to make the work of BAMI accessible to students of all economic means. The total amount available for scholarships will be determined by the number of full-paying students registered and the scholarship donations we receive. If you can, please consider making a donation of any amount to help cover a portion of the fee for another student.

To request a partial scholarship, please fill out the appropriate spaces on the application form. Scholarships will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Refund Policy: No refunds are given for missed sessions.

Continuing Education/Training Hours available: Approved for CEUs for MFT, LCSW (BBS947) Sylvia Israel, MFT, RDT/BCT, TEP, Provider.Additional fee applies.

Hours may also be applied toward certification in Drama Therapy (Recognized by the North American Association for Drama Therapy) Mario Cossa, RDT/MT and Sylvia Israel RDT/BCT, Providers;and/or Psychodrama (Recognized by the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy) Mario Cossa, TEP, Sylvia Israel, TEP, and John Olesen, TEP.

Core Training Group Schedule and Structure:

The group, which began in September, will meetone weekend per month through May, 2014. The schedule for all months except April is:Saturdays from 10 am - 6 pm, with an hour for lunch (7 training hours) and Sundays from 10 am - 1 pm (3 training hours).

Throughout the training year there will also be a session on Sunday afternoons from 2 – 5 pm (3 hours of training) that will introduce the topic for the following month. Attendance at the Sunday afternoon sessions is strongly suggested for CTG members who have fewer than 80 hours of psychodrama training and is encouraged for all CTG members.

Saturdays are devoted to psychodrama training and practice. Tentative topicareas are provided in the listing to follow. Those CTG members who have participated in at least one prior CTG will be given opportunities to lead warm-up activities, and will be first to have opportunities to direct in the group.

Sunday mornings will focus on supervision. There will be opportunities to present individualclients,or groups and receive supervision in action. It may also be a time to practice new roles and techniques. You do not need to be working with clients right now to benefit from these supervision sessions. For those working on Psychodrama Certification Supervised Practice, the morning will count as one supervision session.

In April, there will be a special, Student Directors’ Intensive from Friday through Sunday for a total of 20 training hours. Specific times will be discussed to create convenience of participation for CTG members.

All CTG members are also encouraged to attend the BAMI Friday Night Taster Psychodrama Sessions, which are scheduled the same weekends as CTG sessions from through March and in May. As with the Sunday afternoon sessions, fees are discounted for CTG members.

March 1516 in Berkeley - Psychodrama with Survivors of Trauma with Mario.

Apr. 25 - 27 at a location T.B.A. - Student Director's Intensive with Mario, Sylvia and John.

May 1718 in Berkeley - Closing Session of the CTG: Farewells and Evaluations with Mario, Sylvia and John.

Tuition for CTG Participants (commit to and pre pay - in full or by post-dated checks - a minimum of 5 weekend sessions.)

Full day Saturday Training (10 am- 6 pm) and Sunday AM Supervision (10 am – 1 pm): $200 per weekend/Students $150 (enrolled at least half time and those participating in internship programs)

Sunday Afternoon Training Sessions (2 – 5 pm): $60/$45 Students & Interns -for each Sunday afternoon.

Friday Evening Taster (6:30 - 9:30pm): $25/$20 Students & Interns - for each Friday Taster.

20-hour, April, Student Director's Intensive (times to be determined): $400/ $300 Students & Interns - for 20 hours of training.

For those who wish to register for fewer than 5 Saturday/Sunday AM sessions, all fees (except for Friday night tasters) are an additional $5 per hour. Tasters are an additional $5 total.
