TUESDAY SESSIONS – 2/6, 2/13, 2/20, 2/27 and 3/6 – 5 SESSIONS

CREATIVE COMPUTING CLUB

The Eisenhower Creative Computing Club will introduce students to the joys of online programming via Scratch. Club members will have fun expressing themselves by creating interactive stories to share. All levels of experience are welcome.

TUESDAY SESSIONS– 2/62/13, 2/20 and 2/27 – 4 SESSIONS

CARNEGIE SCIENCE CENTER – SCIENCE ON THE ROAD -STEM BY THE HOUR (GRADES K-2ND)

Students love the fun, hands-on activities. Educators love the minds-on learning loaded with eligible content! STEM-by-the-Hour presentations allow you to expand on important themes in your curriculum right in the classroom! Each week a presenter will introduce a different STEM topic. Those topics include:

  • Rockets
    Content Themes: Astronomy, Space Systems, Physics, Chemistry
    Reach for the stars by shooting off stomp rockets, Alka-Seltzer rockets and hit your target every time.
  • Build It

Content Themes: Engineering, Forces, Experimentation, Forces andInteraction
Create sculptures, build arches and assemble other uniquestructures.

  • Chemical Concoctions
    Content Themes: Chemistry, States of Matter, Structure andProperties
    Stir up some concoctions like silly putty and chalk to takehome.
  • Junior Scientist-Engineer
    Content Themes: Engineering, Motion and Energy, Experimentation
    Complete the tower challenge and make predictions about your beam and suspensionbridges.

PAINT YOUR OWN POTTERY

Have your child join the Clay Café staff and other budding artists to create one of a kind painted pottery. Each unique piece will be designed and painted by your child and then fired in a kiln (off-site). At the end of the session, your child will have 4 projects to keep or to give as presents to family members and friends.

TENNIS

The Boys’ Varsity Coach for USC – Ron Mercer is excited to be back to offer his tennis clinic. Your child will learn the fundamentals of tennis in a fun and relaxed atmosphere in the Eisenhower Gym. Join Ron and the Varsity for his skill building class.

SNAPOLOGY – AMUSEMENT PARK

Design your own amusement park in this super fun program! Learn how to use LEGO® bricks and other building materials to make coasters and other awesome rides. Can you design the next Disney World?

  • All classes are scheduled from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM

  • Registration is based on availability and will be awarded on a first come first serve basis

2. Eisenhower Extras, Eisenhower PTO or the USC School District do not assume responsibility for any child during the child's scheduled class or following dismissal from class

3. On the first day of your program, please notify homeroom teacher of enrollment in Extras

4. Please remind your child of their scheduled classes. It is not the responsibility of the Eisenhower staff to remind the participants

5. Eisenhower staff will dismiss the children from their homeroom to the Extras location

6. There is NO CURB PICK UP; all children must be signed out by an adult (age 16+) from inside the school

7. Classes end at 4:00 PM
