The Secret of the Mystery

Ambassador to the New Lands

URGENTINFORMATION...
BEFORE we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, take a moment to name your sins to God the Father. This will allow you to be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit as you study or read this Bible lesson.
(I John 1:9) (Eph 5:18) /
IF YOU HAVE never believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you have that opportunity right now to have eternal life. We sin and cannot have a relationship with God so God’s Son, Jesus, who is God, came down to earth to become a human being just like us. He did this because He loved us so much. He lived His entire life on earth without sinning once! That qualified Him to go the cross and die in our place and He paid the penalty for sin as a substitute for us. After His death He rose again and is alive right now in heaven. He opened the door for you and me to get into heaven with Him by simply believing in Him and what He did for us on the cross. So simply tell God the Father that you believe in His son Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you will be saved. If you make that decision, you are now saved and a believer and will always be a child of God. When you die, you will spend eternity with Him in heaven (Acts 16:31) (John 3:16).

"For the natural man (the unbeliever) does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually understood" (1 Cor. 2:14)

"He who believes in the Son has eternal life but he who does not obey the command to believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him" (John. 3:36)

/ It is hard to believe that I, Tholuck, was sent as an ambassador to the New Lands. As we sailed across the rough seas, the heavy rain and wind blowing against our faces, I couldn’t help but think about the conversation my King and I had about ambassadorship to Christ, one of the reasons He left us here on earth after we believed in HIM.

King Hardin: Remember, Tholuck, there are two definitions of an ambassador. In the world, an ambassador is a high ranking minister of state or a member of royalty sent to another state or country to represent his own country. Another name for an ambassador is a representative.

Tholuck: So I, as Prince, am going to represent our country of Greenland in the New Lands.

Hardin: Yes, but there is a far more important King you are going to represent.

Tholuck: Yes, I know who you mean.

Hardin: Good,as born-again believers in the LJC (Lord Jesus Christ), we are considered spiritual royalty which is a noble class of people in the spiritual realm due to our relationship with LJC who is our King. We are also considered members of the Royal Family of God, which we become at the moment of salvation by means of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. LJC has sent us into a foreign country which is the cosmic world of Satan, the temporary ruler of the world. Our real home is not in Greenland or even on this Earth, but it is in Heaven, as described in Phi 3:20 which says,“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Tholuck: So we represent the LJC on Earth. We represent God before men and our ambassadorship emphasizes the fact that we are in full time Christian service and involves fulfilling or completing the commands of production found in the Bible.

As the rain died down and the wind continued to blow against our faces with a sweet fragrance, King Hardin continued to explain to me more about "the commands of production". One which he seemed to emphasize and be really excited about was the one related to evangelism which is the act of bringing the Gospel or the Good News to others which can be found in Mark 16:15 which says, And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Back in Greenland, after much prayer, study, meditation, and discussion, we were confident that we were led, by God the Holy Spirit, as a part of our ambassadorship, to tell the Gospel to the people who lived in the New Lands. We loved theverse in 2 Cor 5:14 which says, “For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that One died for all, therefore all died.” We knew this verse to mean that the Lord’s love not only motivates but controls everything we do or every decision we make. Our application of this verse to our daily life is more beautiful than the face of nature itself. Thephrase, one man (LJC) died for everyone, was the main phrase we used, as an ambassador, to work from or focus on as our motivation for evangelizing. Not only during this journey, but throughout our entire life.

We knew that we were not to live for our own interests, but for Him because of His work on the Cross which is stated so perfectly in 2 Cor 5:15 which says, “…and He died for all, that they who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again for them.” As we all are included in His death, we are also to be included in His life, called the resurrection life, which is a life that goes way beyond anything we can even think of or imagine. As an ambassador for Christ, we are to tell everyone what He has done for us. King Hardin explained to us that, as an ambassador or representative of Christ Himself, we are to tell the people of the New Lands to become friends with God as He is already friends with them. 2 Cor 5:20 which says, “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were entreating through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God,” which says that we HAVE been reconciled (have peace with) to God by means of the Cross. To reconcile means to reestablish a close relationship between two opposing parties…to be at peace with them. All the barriers that were hindering a relationship between man and God have been removed by the Cross. We can now, as already stated, be friends with God. King Hardin said that telling everyone this Good News was the job of every individual who witnesses and that it is a special function of the believer with the gift of evangelism. As I was still remembering what King Hardin said to us earlier, He came up on the deck and stood beside me.

King Hardin: Tholuck, how are you doing?

Tholuck: Great, I was just thinking about what you were telling us in Greenland about the ministry of reconciliation (peace with God).

Hardin: You realize, Tholuck, that this is only one of the many things that the LJC has accomplished on the Cross. The more we learn about all the work on the Cross that He has accomplished on behalf of us, the greater love and admiration we develop for Him, and in turn, the more we want to tell others, like the people of the New Lands, of His wonderful work. As 2 Cor 5:19 describes this by saying, “namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.”

Tholuck: Yes King, that verse describes it perfectly. Another verse which I like is Eph 6:20 which says, “For which (Gospel), I am an ambassador in chains, that in proclaiming it (the mystery doctrine) I may speak boldly as I ought to speak.”

Hardin: Do you have any doubts about our purpose in the New Lands? Any questions or concerns? If so, you better tell me now.

Tholuck: I have no doubt King. I am not worried about what I will say or how I will say it because when the time comes, I know that God the Holy Spirit will place the right words in my mouth. It is quite an honor and a privilege to be able to spread the Good News to people who God has led us to, who may or may not have already heard the Gospel before. I understand the importance of it.

Leif Erickson and the Norsemen (who were believers) and who we know as the Vikings were said to discover North America about the year of 1000 A.D. Legend has it that they evangelized the natives of the country but they rejected the Gospel at that time, and the Vikings returned to their own country.
