Financial Service Associate

Department: Banking Department

Reports to:Community Office Manager

Position Summary

Performs customer services, such as opening new accounts, establishing direct deposit accounts, opening retirement accounts and assisting customers with questions concerning the Bank’s services. Receives checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verifies amounts, examines checks for proper endorsement, and entering all transaction into the Teller System.

Primary Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Cashes checks and processes withdrawals; pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
  • Receives mortgages, consumer loan and other payments and ensures the payments match balances due. Enters payment into system and generates receipt for the customer.
  • Counts, checks and packages coins and currency.
  • Promotes and explains other Bank services such as consumer and mortgage loans, IRA’s, certificate of deposits, safe deposit boxes, and other services.
  • Ensures that the desk is properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.
  • Provide a complete range of customer services at the Bank, including opening new accounts, explaining Bank products and services, and gathering customer information to process new and existing accounts.
  • Answers telephone inquires and written inquires concerning Bank products and services.
  • Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationship with all levels of management, staff and outside clients and vendors.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Oneto three years of Cash handling and or customer service experience required
