  10. Laura Weise – Called To Protect for Ministries – Information was given regarding the Diocese’s requirements for screening for volunteers and employees. This training/screening has been mandated by the Holy Father, the Council of Cardinals and the Canadian Council of Bishops. Training sessions are available online or by a course through the Parish. The four items needed to be completely screened include: Model Code of Conduct, Volunteer Information Form, Police Record Check (PIC), and an Intervention Record Check (RIC). A renewal/review needs to be completed every year after the first initial course is finished, as a refresher. A “Called to Protect Ministries” video was presented.Everyone needs to be aware that this training/screening is for all of our protection.
  11. New Business –
  12. Security at the Churches and Halls –Re-keying for all the church buildings is not feasible. Everyone needs to be more vigilant, and this includes all groups and ministries using the buildings. If you see something suspicious, please call the office or call the Parish phone number. Even after hours, there is an emergency contact through the Parish phone. Someone will come and check (probably a priest).
  13. New Church Presentation – by Father Kevin - There are 5 different committees who review our proposals regarding the building of the New Church. We are a pilot project for the Diocese in what we are doing and how we are going about it. This project is a go! We are currently only needing 10 acres of the 54 being looked at by the Diocese in southeast Lethbridge. There is already gas and electricity on the land; however, we will be responsible for the sewer. The Diocese is quite comfortable with the land we have. Please visit the website for further information.
