Cultural Competency Training

Target Audience

This program has been planned for Sandhills Center MCO staff and providers.

Program Description

With increasing diversity in the U.S. population and in the Sandhills Center catchment area, it is critically important that providers are aware of client demographic (e.g., gender, income, race and ethnicity, etc.) and cultural (e.g., language, religion, etc.) factors that can influence access to services and service delivery. This training aims to increase awareness and sensitivity to the needs of persons who may be disadvantaged by low income, disability and illiteracy, or who may be non-English speaking.

Speaker

Lisa Bunting Bradley, MSW, LCSW received her BA from Potsdam College, and her MSW from the University of Michigan. She worked over twelve years as a Clinical Social Worker, and has been a trainer for the NC Dept. of Health & Human Services, MH/DD/SAS, and many other agencies. She currently develops trainings, conducts audits, and consults for her firm, Impact Training & Consulting, LLC.
