SOCIETY & ENVIRONMENT Learning Area Statement

http://www.scsa.wa.edu.au/internet/_Documents/Curriculum_Framework/Curriculum%20Framework%20Learning%20Statement%20for%20Society%20and%20Environment.pdf

Students understand how occupational and structural changes in the workplace have

impacted on the skills and competencies required of workers and on the nature of

work itself, which encompasses full-time, part-time, paid and unpaid labour, and

unemployment. They relate this to worldwide trends and how this has led to changing

attitudes towards work and levels of personal satisfaction in work. As a result, students

are able to describe the features of various occupational groups and identify pathways

or careers that may match their areas of interest. Page 256.
