A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Violet Lucille Probus Jackson Simms.

WHEREAS, Lucy Simms was a proud former employee of General Electric, where she worked for nearly 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Lucy Simms was a faithful member of the Mt. Washington United Methodist Church; and

WHEREAS, Lucy Simms departed this earthly life on February 18, 2014, leaving her family, friends, and an entire community in solemn mourning; and

WHEREAS, Lucy Simms was preceded in death by her first husband, Bennie W. Jackson; her second husband, Frank Simms; her sons, Gerald and Freddie Jackson; two sisters; and four brothers. She is survived by her sons, Joe Jackson and his wife, Marianne, and Ben Jackson and his wife, Linda; her daughter-in-law, Rosemary Jackson; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her stepchildren, Joan Brashear and her husband, Malcolm, Luther Simms and his wife, Bernice, Donnie Simms, Edna Dietrich and her husband, Rick, and Robert Simms and his wife, Kathie; 10 step-grandchildren; and 11 nieces and nephews who will dearly miss her;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

âSection 1. The members of the Senate hereby express their most profound and sincere condolences upon the passing of Violet Lucille Probus Jackson Simms, and extend heartfelt sympathy to her family in this time of loss.

âSection 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Violet Lucille Probus Jackson Simms.

âSection 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Ben Jackson, 8716 Linn Station Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40222.
