A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor and memory of Lance Corporal Timothy M. Jackson.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Lance Corporal Timothy M. Jackson, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Timothy M. Jackson, of Corbin, Kentucky, was born on October 2, 1987; and he traversed these earthly bounds on September 30, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Timothy M. Jackson was the loving husband of Nicole A. Jackson; he was the beloved son of mother Jody Tonkin, and father and stepmother Tim Jackson and Lorrie Johnson; he was the doting brother of Barry and Megan Powell-Jackson, Wayne and Amanda Spurlin, Dustin Johnson, and Jerricho Tonkin; he was the loving grandson of Mary Jackson, Carol Cable, Edith Tonkin, and Diane Leiter; he was the caring great-grandson of Mary Maude; and he leaves behind many other family members who loved him dearly; and

WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Timothy M. Jackson was a graduate of Corbin High School; and he joined the Marine Corps in July 2007, and was promoted to Lance Corporal in April 2008; and

WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Timothy M. Jackson was an assistant automatic rifleman assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; and

WHEREAS, the life of Lance Corporal Timothy M. Jackson ended prematurely as a result of a hostile incident while supporting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan; and

WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Timothy M. Jackson’s awards and decorations include the: Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; and

WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Kentucky has the highest respect for Lance Corporal Timothy M. Jackson and is deeply grateful for the ultimate sacrifice he made for the freedom of all Americans; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Lance Corporal Timothy M. Jackson has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Lance Corporal Timothy M. Jackson and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Lance Corporal Timothy M. Jackson.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Nicole A. Jackson, c/o Hart Funeral Home, P.O.
