Welcome back event for next year: Thoughts

• More space (Thinking about 44 Kent Way, the new Graduate and International Building)

• Plan for a large number (150+)

• Tables for representatives from orgs

• Music groups from on campus or cultural talent

• Less cheese

• Speakers and special guests

○ James Jones from Office of Diversity

○ Dean of Engineering would like to participate in the future

○ Paul Sulzer wrote as well; perhaps include him next year

• Follow up article for UDaily

  • Sound system
  • Better organized raffle and registration
  • Perhaps set up a designated door and table for registration and raffle tickets, name tags ,etc.
  • Call movers if needed

Welcome Bags Review

• Get a list from Janica of names for visiting scholars (every two months)

• Add the ListServ registration to literature or bags somehow

• Implement new bags in Spring

Collaborative tentative agenda IC and OISS

• CC Morris will do the ELI Session

• Andrew Haines can come at any date

• We will set dates tomorrow afternoon

Alexander Razook

• Karen will have coffee with him tomorrow at Brewed Awakenings 9am

Event with CTL and IC

• Need to come up with scenarios

• Contact faculty to find out specific situations and pedagogy solutions that work.

• Perhaps a packet as a take away

• FAQ section on grr programming committee website?

• Stephen will do food and location (trying for ISElab)

• November 1st not set time, but likely 3-4:30

• Plan another similar session in the early spring semester

International programming group

• We will need to set up a meeting with all interested parties

  • Lukman will check with Amy to see what was discussed at GRR

International Caucus Website

• Can we edit it?

• Who can access the website and who wants to update it?

• What is the purpose of is site?

• How can we link it so people can find it?

Other

• Set monthly meetings

• Different groups working on different projects

• OEI has a holiday reception, which we can collaborate on/stake claim to

• General membership meeting in October?

Get Pictures from Paul and submit follow up article for UDaily for Welcome Back Event

Ken will create ListServ for International Caucus and will send me the info on how to sign up

Karen and Ariel will get Ken a list of new names from the event to register them on the Listserv

Implement new bags in Spring

Ask Janica about the Health Session dates (Late Sept early October)

Finalize the IC-OISS Fall program (Waiting for Lukman’s additions)

Set up meeting for international programming committee

  • Set up website

Set up an IEW interest meeting for programming

  • Contact faculty who would be interested in this activity, but not necessarily for inclusion in the programming meeting.
