JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: Seasonal Carpenter Open: 05/05/17

Location: White Earth Housing, Waubun Closes: Until Filled

Pay: 15.00 hr. Status: Seasonal

The White Earth Reservation Housing Authority is seeking qualified seasonal candidates for carpentry work on housing properties.

· Remove and replace partitions, install doors and locks, make repairs to all types of roofing, cabinets, flooring, windows, footings, siding, and other carpentry work.

· Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.

· Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.

· Rehabilitation and repair housing properties.

· Participates in assignments involving carpentry and other craft skills in repairs to buildings.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

· Knowledge of carpentry.

· Physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs, and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

· Ability to work cooperatively within a group

· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

· Ability to juggle multiple tasks.

· The ability to follow and apply all policies and procedures of the White Earth Housing Authority

· Knowledge of the White Earth Reservation demographics, culture, history and lifestyle

Qualifications Required:

· High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

· Three (3) year(s) related experience working with carpentry

· Must have a Driver’s License and acceptable driving history for traveling throughout the Reservation.

· Must pass pre-employment drug and background screenings.
