POOL TYPE:

·  Keating Natatorium pool is a 50-meter x 25-yard facility.

·  The competition pool will consist of one 25-meter course with 8 lanes with a depth of 6 to 10 feet.

·  All 25M events will start from the bulkhead, all 50M & longer events will start from the blocks.

·  Continuous warm-up and warm-down areas will be available in the non-competition area beyond the bulkhead provided warm up procedures are followed by all swimmers.

RULES:

·  The meet will be governed by current United States Swimming Rules except as modified by PPSL Rules. Age as of the first day of June will determine eligibility for the meet. Ohio Swimming safety guidelines and warm-up procedures will be in effect at this meet. See the section: Warm-ups for description of warm-up procedures in this meet.

EVENTS:

·  The meet will be swum in accordance with the accompanying Schedule of Events.

·  All events will be PRELIMINARY and FINALS. Consolation & Championship finals will be swum for all events except relays, where only one Championship final heat will be swum.

·  All preliminary heats will be swum on Tuesday, and all Finals heats will be swum on Wednesday.

ENTRY FEES: $1.25 per individual event

$6 per relay

ENTRY RESTRICTIONS:

·  Swimmers shall enter no more than two (2) individual events. If an entry is submitted with an individual entered in more events than this rule allows, the entry will be made by order of events starting with event #10 until the rule is satisfied.

·  All participants must be current members of their Club, and must have participated in at least two dual meets during the regular season.

·  Swimmers who participate in “B” Swimming Finals may not participate in this meet.

·  Late entries or phone entries will not be accepted.

ENTRY INFORMATION:

·  Entry forms should be e-mailed to Lisa Habel:

·  Teams should submit entries electronically, using HyTek software, or using the attached entry form. Use of HyTek Team Manager or Meet Manager is strongly encouraged.

·  Team entry fees must be paid to the Meet Director, or League Treasurer at the meet. Please make your check payable to PPSL.

ENTRY DEADLINE:

·  Entries submitted via e-mail on the attached form must be submitted by noon, Wednesday, July 11, 2012.

·  Entries submitted electronically via HyTek must be submitted by 6 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012.

·  No entries will be accepted after the entry deadline.

·  A psych sheet will be posted on the Cincinnati Marlins website: www.cincy-marlins.com

FINAL RESULTS:

·  Final results will be posted on the Cincinnati Marlins website: www.cincy-marlins.com

AWARDS:

·  Individual Events: Medals 1st - 3rd place, Ribbons 4th - 16th place

·  Relays: Medals 1st - 3rd place, Ribbons 4th – 16th place

·  Team Awards:

o  Plaques for winners of the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Divisions

o  Plaques for Most Improved Swimming and Team Spirit Awards as determined by the Meet Director

MEET MARSHALS:

Marshals have authority through the Meet Director over warm-ups. A swimmer and/or coach may be removed from the deck for non-compliance with warm-up procedures.

CLERK OF COURSE/SWIMMER CONDUCT:

·  There will be a clerk of course for the preliminary session for swimmers 8 & under. Swimmers 9 & over should report directly to the starting blocks for their events.

·  All swimmers are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. It is the responsibility of all parents to ensure all minor participants/spectators are well behaved and under supervision at all times. Any swimmer acting in an inappropriate manner will be reported to their coach. If the swimmer is reported a second time, they will be banned from participating for the remainder of the meet.

COACHES:

·  There will be a coaches meeting at 8:10 on Tuesday morning under the stands. One coach from each team should attend.

CONCESSIONS/FACILITIES:

·  Natatorium concessions are run by the Cincinnati Marlins, and are available to everyone. Hospitality for coaches and officials will be available in the Hospitality Room, under the stands.

·  NO SMOKING IS ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING.

·  Keating Natatorium will open to the public 30 minutes prior to the start of the warm-up session. No coolers or glass containers are permitted in the natatorium. Swimmers’ bags are not permitted in the spectator seating. No towels, bags or personal belongings may be left in the natatorium between prelims and finals. For your safety and the safety of others exit aisles and exits must remain clear at all times. Thank you for your cooperation.

DIRECTIONS:

From I-75 take Exit 9 and go north on Paddock Rd. (Rt. 4) to North Bend Rd. (The first left turn after crossing under the railroad trestle). Turn left and follow North Bend Rd. to the top of the hill (about 1-1/2 miles). St. Xavier High School is on the right and Keating Natatorium is behind the school.

PARKING:

Parking will be available in the St. Xavier Parking lots near to Keating Natatorium and across the street from St. Xavier.

*Each club will send 1 (one) volunteer to help in Clerk of course for the preliminary session only. Names and contact information should be sent to Mary Sequin (North Hills) by Sunday, July 15.

OFFICIALS:

Each Club is required to provide at least one qualified official for each session (Monday morning and afternoon, and Tuesday evening’s finals). A qualified official is one certified by USA, Y, or the OHSAA swimming, or who is an extremely experienced PPSL official. Officials’ names and certification information should be sent to Tom Mantkowski a form is attached for this purpose.

TIMERS:

·  Timing responsibilities are assigned to all member Clubs. Each Club must provide two timers, with stop watches, as listed below for each of the three meet sessions. The sessions will be split in two halves (changing after the breast stroke events). Lane assignments are as follows:

BULKHEAD ADDITION/REMOVAL:

In order to get the bulkhead installed in Keating Natatorium, we will need help from all the Clubs on Sunday, July 15, 2012, at 8:00 p.m. Each club is responsible for sending at least one person (a buddy is always welcome). This process takes about 2 hours, requires a bathing suit, and a lot of strength.

In addition, we need one representative from each club to remove the bulkhead on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at 8:00 pm. Once again, this requires a bathing suit and a lot of strength.

Thank you in advance for you cooperation. Any Club failing to provide at least one representative will be fined $125.00 by the League. Our contract with Keating requires us to add and remove the bulkhead, and we need everyone’s participation.

WARM-UPS:

·  Ohio Swimming Warm up Procedures will be followed. Swimmers must enter the water feet first from the edge of the pool with one hand in contact with the deck.

·  Coaches shall actively supervise their swimmers throughout the warm-up session.

·  Swimmers are required to exit the pool upon completion of their warm-up period to allow other swimmers adequate warm-up time. The pool is not for visiting or playing during the warm-up session.

·  Backstroke swimmers shall ensure that they are not starting at the same time as a swimmer on the blocks, and they must enter the pool feet first. Swimmers shall not step up on the blocks if there is a backstroke swimmer waiting to start.

·  Warm-ups will be split into 3 sessions as listed below:
