Professional Development and Leadership Training
The NCA’s philosophy and mission are based on the MarkED National Model Program, which is a professional and leadership-development project for improving the delivery of competency-based education in the classroom.
Participants are committed to their own professional development and to the improvement of classroom instruction through emphasis on learning outcomes, student accountability and responsibility, and increased student involvement in the management of their own learning.
The $1500 Program Fee Includes:
1.  Three days initial in-service training. (June).
2.  August update for 1st and 2nd year. (WA-ACTE Conference).
3.  Web based curriculum and class support through www.coursesites.com for two years.
4.  Core Standards Material including Common Formative and Summative Assessments
Who can apply?
All educators are encouraged to apply. Selection of participants will be completed by the NCA leadership team. Notification of acceptance into the program will be by May 15th of the current year.

(1.0) AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR
LOCATION: Puget Sound Skills Center
The following position has been identified as an opening for the 2012-13 school year and is a non-continuing contract position.
Job Summary:
The Automotive Technology instructor is expected to prepare high school youth for entry into the automotive industry and further education and training in a college or apprenticeship program. The teacher must provide strong leadership and instructional skills to fully develop and teach a competency and industry certification-based program. The instructor, in collaboration with the program advisory committee, will be expected to develop an expanded vision for the program to ensure that the program curriculum and skills competencies are upgraded to prepare students for employment.
The classroom facility consists of two hydraulic lifts and four floor spaces for cars. The shop is designed to accommodate vehicles for minor repair with additional space available for related projects.
