JOB SUMMARY

To supporttheRegisteredManagerin appropriately managingthe service in line with theCode ofConduct and Policies and Procedures. To share on adelegatedbasis the managementdutieswithinthe serviceandto supportthe RegisteredManager intakingresponsibility for supportingserviceusersand managingtheresources designatedtotheservice.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Service Users

  • Toensure thatappropriatecareandsupport is provided to serviceusersinawaythatdemonstratesa personcenteredapproachtowardsserviceusers toenablethem toliveindependent and fulfillinglives.Ensuringthatthe interests oftheserviceuserare centralto what happensin the servicewhilstensuring theirviewsarerespected andwhere appropriateandsafeto doso,actedupon.Toensuretheserviceuserhasaclear voice in relation tohowthey live theirlives and whatoutcomestheyareseeking.
  • TosupporttheRegistered/DivisionalManagertomanageinawaythatensuresthe privacy,respectanddignityoftheserviceuser atall times andtocreateaculture, which recognisesthe Equal Opportunities of all.

Staff

  • To manage, supervise and motivate team members and to undertake all managementduties inthe absence of a Registered Manager.

Administration

  • Toberesponsible,onadelegatedbasis,forensuringthatallserviceuserandservice records arekeptfullyuptodateasrequiredandtoensurethatalleventsand activitiesare fullyevidencedprovidingacompleteaudittrail and toundertake administrative,andhealthand safety dutiesas delegated,by either policy or management.Thesedocumentsmayinclude:
  • Person centered plans.
  • Financial records - including service users’ personal money, clothing allowances,pettycash;
  • Medication records;
  • Vehicle checks;
  • House safetychecks;
  • Completing incident accidents records on Rivo ina comprehensive manner;
  • Other relevant functions.
  • Toberesponsible,onadelegatedbasis,forthecorrectadministrationand record keeping forall service users’ medications in line with the currentmedicationpolicy,andcompleteassociatedrecordsina fulland accurate mannerasrequiredinthe policy document.Inadditionto be responsible forensuringannualhealthchecks arecarriedoutandservice usersaresupportedto makeappropriateuseofGP,dentist,chiropodyand opticians services.
  • Toberesponsible,onadelegatedbasis,forensuringtheservicebudgetis managed withinthe givenbudget. Any variancesare noted, investigated and reportedtothe appropriate person in atimelymanner.
  • Toberesponsible,onadelegatedbasis,forallfinancialrecords, including service users’ personal allowances, clothingallowances, service budgets, areproperlymanaged,documented andupdated soastosatisfyany necessaryaudit.
  • Toberesponsibleforsupportingthe Registered Managerinensuringyouandyourstaff team complywith Fire andHealth & Safety policies in relation to the service.
  • Youwillberesponsible,onadelegatedbasis,forensuringthehouse vehiclesarecheckedregularlyandmaintainedtotherequiredstandard,kept inacleanandsafeconditionservicedatregularintervalsanddrivenina safe manner.
  • Youwillberesponsibleforsupportingthemanagerinensuringthatallhouse maintenance defects arenotified promptly toMaintenanceand rectified ina timelymanner.
  • Be aware of company policies and procedures and ensure requirement are incorporated into practice.
  • Ensure effective and clearly documented handover systems are maintained to facilitate the effective transfer of information between staff and shift.

General

  • Toberesponsible,onadelegatedbasis,foraspectsofresourceandresource allocationtoensurethatgoodsystemsforbudgetmanagementisin placeand maintained.
  • To undertake the full range of careduties, includingbeing on Rota when required.
  • Toparticipate intheon-call system.

Qualifications /
  1. NVQ 4/Diploma Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services or equivalent.
  2. Evidence of personal and professional development.
  3. Nursing qualification RNLD or RMN

Experience /
  1. Understand care planning processes and have experience of writing care plans.
  2. Experience of working with service users with various mental health needs and learning disabilities.
  3. Leadership Experience.
