TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE EXAMINATION
Thank you for your interest in employment with the State Water Resources Control Board.
All competitors who are successful in the examination will be eligible to be considered for a job opening with the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) and the nine Regional Water Quality Control Boards (RWQCB) (collectively the Water Boards).
The Water Boards’ Engineering Geologist examination consists entirely of a Training and Experience questionnaire which will be used to evaluate your education, training, experience and familiarity with or understanding of a particular subject or task to effectively perform the duties relative to the classification.
Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications as listed in the examination bulletin may take this examination. The information you provide in this questionnaire will determine your score and rank on the eligibility list.
Candidates misrepresenting their education, training, experience, knowledge, and abilities will be subject to adverse consequences, which could include the following:
· Removal from the exam process;
· Removal from the certification list;
· Loss of state employment; and/or
· Loss of the right to compete in any future examinations.

If successful in the examination, your name will be placed on the eligibility list for a period of 12 months. During this period, you may apply for openings and be considered for employment opportunities with the Water Boards. Your examination may be made available to hiring supervisors for review when you submit your application.
Your examination results will be mailed to your home address.

INSTRUCTIONS
COMPLETING EXAMINATION MATERIALS:This Training and Experience questionnaire is the examination for the Engineering Geologist.
In the following pages, you will rate yourself on series of statements comprised of essential tasks, knowledge, and skills required to successfully perform in the Engineering Geologist position. Respond to each statement by indicating how it applies to you. You are required to respond to every statement.
· In responding to each statement you may refer to your work experience (public or private) whether paid or volunteer formal education or formal training courses.
· Fill out the questionnaire neatly and legibly.
· Be sure your sentences are clear and understandable.
· Provide your responses on the questionnaire only using the space provided. Do not attach a resume, additional pages or other materials. Do not write on the back of pages. Attachments will not be evaluated.
· Do not alter the form in any way to give yourself additional space. Altered forms or response will not be evaluated.
· You are required to respond to every statement in Sections 1 & 2 by marking one option.
· Include brief descriptions of your knowledge and/or experience for each statement in Section 2. If your description is not included, you will not receive a score for that item.
· Upon completion, make a photocopy for your records.
· Mail the completed questionnaire, standard state application (STD. 678), and photocopies of official transcripts and degree to the address listed on the previous page.
· Be sure your envelope has adequate postage.
