TAG 91.1 & KITAKITS
TAG-AOKE NIGHTS & GRAND SHOWDOWN
TERMS & CONDITIONS
· TAG Listeners are invited to join on the elimination round of the competitions every Monday from September to November
· Open Mic Mondays will be hosted by Kitakits’ Tabbylicious and Sweet Dexter
· On a first come, first served basis, up to 5 contestants will be competing in one night
· Contestants must be:
o A Filipino
o At least 21 years old
o An amateur singer (Not currently working as a professional singer)
o A holder of valid UAE residence visa
o Able to present an EID or copy of UAE residence visa
o Available for the Monthly Finals of the month (TBA by first week of the month) and Grand Finals on December 9
*September Monthly Finals will be held on September 30, from 9PM to 11PM
· All weekly contestants are required to review and sign a copy of the Mechanics prior to officially entering the competition as their official registration; a valid EID or visa copy must be presented upon submission of signed document
· An online registration will likewise be open via tag911.ae/tagaoke. Online registrants will be notified of the date of their open mic challenge.
· Unavailable contestants on the designated monthly contest (weekly winner of the month will only compete on the same month) will be disqualified
· Unavailable contestants on the designated grand showdown date will be disqualified
MECHANICS
TAG-AOKE NIGHTS – OPEN MIC MONDAYS
· Contestants will pick their contest piece on the Kitakits’ karaoke system and sing-along with the same
· Weekly judges will be comprised of Marco Polo Management and chosen individuals from the Filipino community events and music industry
· Criteria for judging for the weekly elimination round:
o Voice Quality – 30%
o Pronunciation – 30%
o Stage Presence – 20%
o Timing – 10%
o Audience Impact – 10%
· Top 2 Contestants will advance to the Monthly Finals where they will have the chance to take home prizes and the chance to win the GRAND PRIZE of AED 10,000!
· Weekly winners can submit their audio sample to TAG 91.1 and will be aired on Chikay’s Kantambayan on one Saturday
TAG-AOKE NIGHTS – MONTHLY FINALS
· Each month, six (6) monthly finalists will be performing their chosen OPM song on Minus One (MP3 format)
· Each contestant will be judged according to:
§ Voice Quality – 30%
§ Pronunciation – 20%
§ Stage Presence – 20%
§ Timing – 10%
§ Mastery of Lyrics – 10%
§ Audience Impact – 10%
· At least one TAG 91.1 presenter will be part of the panel of judges
· Top 2 Contestants will be hailed as Monthly Winners and will be receiving special Prizes from Marco Polo Hotel, TAG 91.1 & Prize Sponsors; They will also be part of the GRAND SHOWDOWN happening on December 9
TAG-AOKE NIGHTS – GRAND SHOWDOWN
· On December (exact date TBA by first week of September), the Grand Showdown will have six (6) Grand Finalists to battle it out to bag the title as the very first TAG 91.1 & Kitakits Karaoke Champ!
· Each contestant will perform two songs – one will be upbeat music (Disco, Rock, Pop, Hip-hop), and one their own song choices on Minus One
· Each contestant will be judged according to:
o Song 1
§ Voice Quality – 30%
§ Pronunciation – 20%
§ Stage Presence – 20%
§ Timing – 10%
§ Mastery of Lyrics – 10%
§ Audience Impact – 10%
o Song 2
§ Voice Quality – 30%
§ Pronunciation – 20%
§ Stage Presence – 20%
§ Timing – 10%
§ Mastery of Lyrics – 10%
§ Audience Impact – 10%

· A TAG 91.1 presenter will be part of the panel of judges
· Top 3 Contestants will be receiving the following prizes:
o 2nd Placer: AED 4,000 plus trophies
o 1st Placer: AED 6,000 plus trophies
o Champion: AED 10,000 plus trophies & a special gift from Philip Stein
