Job title: Manager
Responsible to: The Trustees
Salary: £16,614 a year pro rata, linked to Cambridge City Council Band 3, SCP17
Hours: 8 hours a week
Holiday provision: 28 days plus public holidays, pro rata
Location: Combination of home and office-based working by negotiation
Police check: CRB enhanced for working with children and vulnerable adults
Purpose
1. To manage the Village Hall and ensure that it provides a high standard of service to all its users
2. To work with the Trustees to ensure that all activities comply with legal requirements and with the charitable aims of the Village Hall Trust.
Key tasks and duties
1. To run an effective and efficient booking service, (including electronic booking system, scheduling, chasing, arranging opening and layout of required facilities), and provide Trustees with regular reports on levels of use.
2. To work with the Trustees to keep up to date with legal requirements and develop and maintain appropriate policies and plans [Health & Safety, Security, Equal Opportunities, Child Protection, Risk Management, Hiring Policy, Licensing Regulations etc.]
3. To ensure that the security and fire protection systems for the building are fully maintained and to act as emergency contact for the building
4. To adopt safe working practices and report any accidents and hazardous situations to the Trustees and to do everything reasonable to prevent personal injury to yourself, colleagues and users
5. To manage the caretaker and contractors
6. To develop relations with user groups and individual users.
7. To liaise with the Trustees on building maintenance.
8. To work with the Trustees to develop an effective Management Committee.
9. To work with the Trustees and Treasurer to run the financial and personnel systems, updated as required.
10. To work with the Trustees to ensure that services are financially viable and the charging policy is appropriate
11. To carry out any other duties appropriate to the post as instructed by the Trustees.
